KANO

From 1895 to 1945, Taiwan was a colony of Imperial Japan, which not only ruled the island but also helped introduce baseball to its youth. Baseball teams from all of Japan’s colonies that made the grade were invited to compete in its annual Koshien High School tournament. The only team to achieve this honor was the one from Chiayi Agricultural and Forestry Vocational School, nicknamed Kano, in 1931. The Kano team, which was made up of Japanese, Han Chinese, and Aboriginal boys, surprised the Japanese teams when they made it all the way to the finals.

Now, this unbelievable event can be seen on the big screen. Based on real-life events, Kano is sure to win the hearts of fans, just as the original team did.
