Reefs of Art

Jason deCaires Taylor has developed a new way for art to be more beautiful, living, and environmentally important. It is called an underwater sculpture museum. Coral reefs around the world are in danger because of overfishing, tourism, and pollution. Taylor has transformed his love for the ocean into a mission to save them. He carves large concrete sculptures and arranges them underwater using a crane. Many of them are of people, but there is no limit to his creativity. Over time, the sculptures become covered with new coral as well as important homes for sea creatures of all sizes. His goal is to draw people away from natural coral reefs in order to give them a chance to recover. By following his passion, Taylor is bettering the world for everyone.
