Joe heard on the news that many cities were experiencing a shortage of blood. One afternoon, Joe passed a restaurant that had posted an offer of a free steak in exchange for giving blood. He liked the idea of getting a free meal, so he decided to roll up his sleeves and help those in need. When he arrived at the nearest blood bank, many people had already flocked there with the same idea in mind. He was touched to see so many kind-hearted people reaching out to help their fellowman. After he finished donating, Joe vowed to continue giving blood as long as he could, even if there weren’t any free meals afterwards.
