Today

奔走在太陽的路上,

Rushing along the sunlit road,

不看天邊的流雲;

I do not look at the clouds drifting on the horizon;

不徬徨在人行道.

Nor pace to and fro aimlessly on the pavement.

我用嘶啞的喉嚨歌唱

I would sing with my hoarse voice

這被暴風雨所打擊的土地,

Of this land buffeted by storms,

這永遠洶湧著悲憤的河流,

Of this river turbulent with our grief,

無止息地吹刮著的激怒的風.

Of these angry winds ceaselessly blowing.

在太陽照著人群的當中

In the midst of crowds in the Sun,

那些像我一樣悲戚的臉孔

Those with faces as downtrodden as mine.

為什麼我的眼睛常含淚水?

Why are my eyes always brimming with tears？

因為我對這土地～台灣愛的深沉......

Because I love this land～TAIWAN so deeply....
