Yesterday my Tutor asked me: “What happened to your hair? You’ve straightened it?” Haha, caught her! Actually I have very straight hair – it’s always behaved well even when I had short hair like a boy after I labored my first kid, Peter. And I have quite a sheer volume of it – should thank my father who told me he had a lot hair when he was young (He actually showed me a picture - when he was 30 sth - to prove that J!). Don’t exactly know why – After I moved to NZ I began to wear long hair – longer than my shoulders and I got a perm every half year when I returned to Hair management is very expensive here in NZ. My kids' Daddy had a hair cut recently – cost him NZ$50, equivalent to NT$ 1,150! He could have tried some “quick cut” at the mall for $15 to $20, if he dared to get a hair style he may regret for the following one or two months. He once had that actually – the barber (looked like a Chinese female immigrant) use a hair trimmer which seemed to be set at a wrong hair length – cut his hair so short that people thought he was served in the army (!). I developed the skills of hair-cutting using my kids in the experiments since it is so expensive here. First time – it should be one and a half year ago – I tried Peter and he got the comments from his friends: “What happened to your hair?” But how kind his friends were; they said it’s quite nice after they learned it’s my product. Then Peter turned to some cheaper barbers nearby his college. He said it’s just because my speed was a bit slow, what a nice kid who didn’t want to hurt my feelings! But Edward remained his confidence on me and let me practice on him regularly. So we designed a hair style we both liked most together, since I trimmed his hair in the restroom with a big mirror, so that he can give me suggestions on how he liked it to be. And… I am looking forward to the comments from his friends now. Hope it’s not the same as the one Peter got! J |
