Here is the revised text with corrected English grammar and the conversion from simplified to traditional Chinese:
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Lets Talk in English. My name is Esther.
And my name is Garrett. Today, we’ll give you some English you need.
The name of today’s lesson is What do they look like?
Hmm, what do they look like?
So in today’s lesson, we’ll talk about some ways we can describe people. Right, they is a word we use when we talk about other people, not just one person but more than one person.
Exactly.
But what if you want to introduce someone to someone else? You want to describe what they look like or what kind of person they are?
You’ll need to know some good English words and sentences to do that. Let’s start learning some of those in today’s reading.
You can describe a person in many ways. They may be young or old. You can talk about their height. They may be tall, short, or average. You can talk about their hair too. It can be long or short, curly or straight. It may be brown, black, gray, blonde, or red. These days, it may be green or purple too.
You can also tell a person’s eye color. Most people have black, brown, blue, or green eyes.
Thanks, Esther. Those were some good ways that we can use to describe what people look like.
And friends, we hope you can describe to us what the answer is to our "Find It" question:
What does the old man have?
What does the old man have? We can talk about how tall or short he is. We can also talk about his hair. We can talk about his eyes, what color they are exactly.
We will find the answer to this question in our lesson today.
And as we go through it, think about which words you could use to describe how you look.
Well, let’s learn some of our words with Sonya.
James
Look at that young woman over there.
James
The woman with short brown hair.
James
It’s straight and blond.
Sam,
The old man with gray hair.
Gray hair and bright blue eyes.
Where do we go next?
I’m a little tired, let’s sit here for a few minutes.
Okay, we can watch people for fun.
Good idea!
Look at that young woman over there.
Which woman? The woman with short brown hair?
No, not her. The woman with long curly hair. She’s wearing a beautiful dress.
I see her.
Today, James is with Suzy, and James starts by asking Suzy where they should go next.
He asks, "Where do we go next?"
Exactly, they’re in one place now, and they’re wondering which place they’ll go to after this.
Well, Suzy is a little tired. When you’re tired, you don’t really want to move, so she tells James she wants to sit for a few minutes.
Yeah, let’s sit here for a few minutes, and friends, let’s watch today’s calendar phrase:

Let’s sit here for a few minutes.
Let’s sit here for a few minutes. Let’s go hiking now.
Let’s sit here for a few minutes. Let’s play basketball. Nah.
Let’s sit here for a few minutes. Let’s do something, okay?
Let’s study at the library.
Let’s sit here for a few minutes.
Good idea!
Let’s sit here for a few minutes.
Let’s sit here for a few minutes.

Now James says something that is very interesting.
He tells Susie that they can watch people for fun.
Hear it? What does it mean to watch someone for fun?
Yeah, this might sound a little funny, but when you’re out in public, in a busy city or at the mall, you might just want to sit down and look around at what kinds of people are around.
It can be kind of interesting, right?
We can call that watch people, or we can also call that people watch.
You can say, Let’s go people watching at the mall.
Exactly!
Well, Susie thinks this is a good idea and she spots someone.
She says, “Look at that young woman over there.”
Here, the word young is talking about a person’s age. From the way they look, you can tell that they are not old.
Exactly. But how old does someone have to be to be young?
I guess that depends on how old you are, but usually, someone under the age of 30, probably, right?
And James wants to know which woman Susie is talking about. He asks, The woman with short brown hair?
So he’s using some words to describe the woman. He’s talking about her hair.
It’s short, not long, and the color is brown.
Garrett has short hair, while I have long hair.
Sonya, can you help us with words we use when we talk about what someone looks like?
James
The woman with short brown hair.
The girl with big round eyes is crying.
He is talking to the man with a deep voice.
Do you see the woman with the red scarf?
Thank you, Sonia!
Well, Suzy tells James,
It’s not that woman, it’s another woman.
She’s looking at a woman with long curly hair.
Exactly. So there are different kinds of hair.
That’s talking about the shape of it.
Curly hair is one kind. People with curly hair have curls in their hair. They spin around and around.
And friends, did you see that comma, that little mark?
You can say long and curly hair, or you can use a comma after long. She says long curly hair.
Well, this woman is wearing a beautiful dress, right?
So we can also describe someone based on what they’re wearing. What kind of clothes are they wearing? What color are they, right?
And James tells Susie that he sees her.
So now they are looking at the same woman.
Yeah, they were able to figure out who Susie was talking about.
All friends, it’s time for us to take a short break, but we will be right back just after this.
Let’s Talk in English.
Every day, every day, that’s the way.
Friends, welcome back!
Do you know how to describe how you look?
I can try. I have short brown hair, and I’m wearing a sweater and pants.
And I can add, Garrett is tall and handsome. I am wearing a pink sweater, and I am wearing a black skirt. I have long hair.
Try that yourself. Describe how you look to someone else.
Good idea!
Now, let’s get back to our conversation.
There’s a young man with her. He is very tall.
Not really, he is just about my height. I like his hair, though. It is straight and blond.
Do you see the old man at the next table?
The old man with gray hair?
Yes.
Gray hair and bright blue eyes. He’s smiling at us.
Friends, remember, Susie and James are at the mall, and they are watching people now. Susie tells us that there is a young man with this woman that they are both looking at, right? So it’s not just one person they’re talking about now. That young man is very tall, so he has a lot of height. But to James, he thinks that young man is not that tall. He says, “Not really, he’s just about my height.” Now, if someone asks you what your height is, they’re asking how tall you are. You can tell people your height in centimeters or inches. Exactly! If you’re in the U.S., make sure you use feet and inches so that people understand what you’re talking about. You might not get it just right, but you can get it about right. Let’s go over to Sonya for more on this.
Suzi
James
He’s just about my height.
He is about my weight.
All the students are about the same age.
The rooms are all about the same size.
Thank you, Sonya. Well, it sounds like James admires some things about this young man. He likes his hair—it’s straight and blond, right? If someone has straight hair, it means that their hair is not curly. Many people who have long hair have straight hair. And this young man has blonde hair. Blonde is like a yellow or golden color. Esther has blonde hair. We don’t use the word yellow or golden when we’re talking about hair, right? Please use the word blonde now.
Susie is asking James about another person. She asks, “Do you see the old man at the next table?”
Well, I think I see the answer to our “find it” question. What does the old man have? He has gray hair and bright blue eyes. Yes, when people get older, their hair usually starts to turn a bit gray. I even have a few gray hairs starting to come in, but it sounds like this old man has a lot of gray hair, right? And his eyes are blue. But Susie also uses the word "bright" to describe his eyes. When someone’s eyes are bright, it looks like they are shining or twinkling. Yeah, it might look like they have a lot of happiness, and actually, this old man is smiling at Susie and James. Hmm, I wonder who he is.
Friends, we all have a pair of eyes, and when you smile, your eyes look like they are bright. Yes, we use our eyes to look at the world around us. We use our eyes to look at each other and describe what we look like, right? And when you people-watch, you are using your eyes to watch people. Exactly! So, friends, are you ready?
Now, are you ready to describe how you look or how some of your friends around you look? Let’s go and review today’s keywords and try to use these keywords to describe yourself and those around you.
Here’s your first keyword for today: young.
Young:
Rita is young. She’s only nineteen.
short
Short:
Ben is a little short for his age.
straight
Straight:
Can you draw a straight line?
gray
Gray:
My grandma has gray hair.
eyes
Eyes:
Open your eyes, you can look now.
Well, friends, those are your keywords for today. Keep on practicing them, and now it’s your turn. The words for today are young, short, straight, gray, and eyes. Now it’s your turn to use them in a sentence.
First one:
This pencil is __.
You got it! This pencil is too short. Next:
Gina has big green __.
Correct! Gina has big green eyes. Next:
Walk down the __ path.
Good job! Walk down the straight path. Next:
The people are having __ fun.
You’re right! The young people are having fun. Last:
Why do I have so many __ hairs?
You’re right! Why do I have so many gray hairs?
Thanks for joining me, friends. I’ll see you tomorrow for your turn!
Where do we go next?
I’m a little tired. Let’s sit here for a few minutes.
Okay, we can watch people for fun.
Good idea!
Look at that young woman over there.
Which woman? The woman with short brown hair?
No, not her. The woman with long curly hair.
She’s wearing a beautiful dress.
I see her.
There is a young man with her. He is very tall.
Not really. He is just about my height.
I like his hair, though. It is straight and blonde.
Do you see the old man at the next table?
The old man with gray hair?
Yes.
Gray hair and bright blue eyes. He’s smiling at us.
James: "Look at me!"
I am looking.
How would you describe me?
Hmm, well, you’re short.
Oh, well, that’s because I’m sitting.
Well, you have a short red fur.
Yeah, I have fuzzy red fur.
Yes, it’s kind of fuzzy and kind of red.
Yeah, I’m cute and fuzzy. How else would you describe me?
You have two big ears and a very big nose.
Hey, that’s because I’m a monkey.
Yes, and you have a very big mouth.
Ha-ha!
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
Ha!
You look like a monkey.
That’s right. Ha!
Ha-ha, and you smell like one too.
What?
Oh, you’re smelly!
No, you’re smelly!
Oh!
Now let’s review with two questions. Here’s your first question:
Which young woman is Susie looking at?
You can find the answer in the conversation.
A) The woman with long curly hair.
Here’s our other question:
What do you do for fun?
Let’s go to some of our friends and hear their fun answers.
What do you do for fun?
What do I do for fun?
Well, sometimes I play ball outside, and sometimes I play inside. I like to play cards and put puzzles together. And my favorite thing is jumping on the bed. It’s fun to talk to you too.
What do I do for fun?
I hang out with my friends and family for fun. Sometimes we play games or watch a movie together, or we just sit around a table, chat, and share stories. Cooking with other people is actually a lot of fun too. I also read books for fun in my free time.
What do I do for fun?
I love to cook and bake. I like to bake cakes and cookies. Sometimes I eat some of them myself, but I also love to give them to my friends and co-workers. Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite things to bake.
What do I do for fun?
A lot of things! You all know I really like playing badminton, but I also enjoy collecting coins and going on little adventures with James. I went to a hot pot restaurant with him one time. It was my first time, and it was delicious. I learned a lot about Chinese culture from James, and it’s really fun.
What do I do for fun?
I like to do a lot of things, but I like to walk outside. Oh, and I like to exercise. There are lots of fun things to do, but mostly I love being out in nature for fun.
You know, "What do you do for fun?" is very similar to another question: What are your hobbies?
Garrett, what do you do for fun?
I love to cook food and read books.
Friends, answer this question and don’t forget to join us again tomorrow right here on Let’s Talk in English! Goodbye!

Here is the revised version with corrected English grammar and simplified Chinese converted to Traditional Chinese:
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Let’s Talk in English. My name is Garrett,
And my name is Esther. Today, our topic is English you need,
And the title is "What do they look like?"
Yes, what do they look like?
We are talking about ways to describe what people look like.
Yesterday, we learned some different words like "young" and "old."
Exactly, those describe someone’s age or the age that they look like.
You can also talk about someone’s height.
Are they short or are they tall?
Or we can talk about someone’s hair. Is it straight or is it curly?
Exactly, and of course,
You need to use lots of color words.
You’ll want to describe someone’s hair color or their eye color.
Right?
Yesterday, we talked about an old man with gray hair
And a young man with blonde hair. Well,
All of these words can be very useful today
If you are going out around town
Because it’s New Year’s Eve,
And I’m sure you’ll see lots of interesting people.
Right? Tomorrow,
It’s going to be the first day, January 1st, of 2025.
But let’s go to our lesson,
And let’s look for the answer to our Find It question.
Our question is: "What does Olivia Mead look like?"
What does Olivia Mead look like?
Find the answer in our lesson today.
Now, let’s go to Sonya with our keywords.
Greg問Julie
You’re having a New Year’s Eve party.
Julie
Is she the tall woman with light brown hair and glasses?
Paul Davis,
He is a new reporter.
Julie
He’s the one with dark curly hair and a beard, right?
He’s thin with an athletic build.
So Julie, you’re having a New Year’s Eve party?
That’s right. Are you coming?
Of course.
But I was wondering something. What? Why?
Don’t you invite some of our new co-workers?
Then we could get to know them better.
That’s a great idea! Who were you thinking of?
Olivia Mead.
She works in business. Is she the tall woman with light brown hair and glasses?
That’s her. I’ll invite her.
Well, Greg has heard some news.
He has heard that Julie is going to have a New Year’s Eve party.
Yes,
Many people do that for New Year’s Eve.
It’s a way to celebrate the year that has gone past
And look forward to what is coming ahead.
Now,
Parties are gatherings or events in which we celebrate something, right?
You might go to a birthday party or a wedding party.
Yes, at a party, there is lots of good food. There might be games,
And of course,
Lots of great friends all together. Now,
Earlier, we heard the phrase you’re having.
Sonia, can you help us with words like this?
Greg說Julie
So Julie, you’re having a New Year’s Eve party?
V-ing,
So Jeff is leaving.
The students are returning to school.
We are providing lunch for everyone.
Thank you, Sonia.
So Julie tells Greg that yes,
She is having a New Year’s Eve party,
And she asks, "Are you coming?"
Yeah, hey,
Esther, are you coming?
I am. And are you coming?
Are you coming is today’s calendar phrase:

Are you coming?
I’m having a party. Are you coming?
Did you invite our friends?
Yes. Are you coming?
Will there be music?
Yes. Are you coming?
Will there be food?
Yes, pizza,
Hot dogs, chips, cake, and ice cream. Are you coming?
Of course,
I’m coming. Yummy!
Are you coming?
Are you coming?

Are you coming?
Garrett, are you coming as well?
I’m planning on it. Well,
Greg is as well.
He says, "Of course,"
But he is wondering something about this party, right?
If you are wondering something,
It means you’re curious about something,
Or you have a question about something.
What is his question?
What is his question?
What does Greg want to know? Well,
He asks Julie, "Why don’t you invite some of our new co-workers?"
Great! We have some new co-workers here at Let’s Talk in English,
And we can’t wait to introduce them to you.
Greg says that if Julie invites the new co-workers,
Then we can all get to know them better.
Yes, parties are a great place for that,
And Julie thinks this is a great idea.
But who exactly is Greg thinking of? Well,
It’s a lady. Her name is Olivia Mead. She works in business.
Exactly, in business, so to do with buying and selling things.
Well,
Now let’s answer our Find It question:
What does Olivia Mead look like?
She is a tall woman with light brown hair and glasses.
Okay,
So we are using more words to describe someone:
A tall woman, not short, with light brown hair and glasses.
Glasses are what some people wear over their eyes to help them see better.
And Julie tells us that she’s going to invite Olivia.
We’re so happy
Because we want to meet Olivia as well. Exactly. Now, friends,
It’s time for us to take a quick break. We’ll be right back,
So don’t go away.
Talking English every day,
That’s the way.
Welcome back! When we talk about colors,
We can use more words to describe them.
We can use the words light and dark to talk about a color.
Exactly,
The same color, like the color brown, could be either light or dark.
It will look a little bit different based on which one it is.
On a sunny day,
The sky is light blue, and when you look at the ocean,
It is dark blue.
Well, friends,
Let’s go back to our conversation now.
You should invite Paul Davies too.
Who’s he?
He’s a new reporter.
Oh right,
He’s the one with dark curly hair and a beard, right?
Yes,
He’s really into sports, so he’s thin with an athletic build.
Alright, I’ll invite him too.
I had lunch with him the other day. He’s a fun guy and very nice.
He just might be the life of the party.
Great! This is going to be a fun party.
You know, Greg is such a fun, outgoing person.
He even knows our other new colleague, Paul Davies,
And he thinks that Julie should invite him to the party as well.
Who is he? Well, he is a new reporter at the station. Yes, here at LTE TV, we have quite a few reporters. They bring us the news so we can know what’s happening in the world. Right, a reporter reports or tells us about news. And what does he look like? Well, Julie tells us a little bit. He’s the one with dark curly hair and a beard.
Hmm, so his hair color is not light, it’s dark, it’s curly, and he has a beard. You don’t have a beard? No, not right now. A beard is hair on your face, usually only men have a beard, but some people shave it off. And we hear more about him. Greg tells us that he’s really into sports now. If you’re into something, it means you’re very, very interested in something. Sonia, can you help us with this?
"He’s really into sports, so he’s thin with an athletic build."
"Are you into video games?"
"She’s into hiking and spends every weekend in the mountains."
"He’s really into cooking and often tries new recipes."
Thank you, Sonia. And we hear that he’s thin. If someone is thin, they are not very big or fat. Exactly. That might be because they don’t eat a lot of food or because they exercise a lot. We also hear that he has an athletic build. Now, the word "build" here is interesting. Your build is the way you are put together or the shape of your body. If someone has an athletic build, it looks like they exercise or they’re into sports.
So Julie tells Greg that yes, she will also invite him. Exactly. Greg had lunch with him the other day, and Greg thinks he’s a fun guy and very nice. He just might be the life of the party.
The life of the party is a fun phrase to use when you talk about someone who is very fun to be around. They like to talk and they like to be around others. Yeah, they probably would make a party even more fun, I’m sure. We’ve all been to a party before that just was kind of, well, boring. But if someone’s there that’s the life of the party, they bring everything to life. Right? They might tell funny jokes or share interesting stories or ask questions that get everyone talking. Oh, I agree with Julie. This is going to be a fun party.
We are excited about the party we’re having, friends. What are you doing tonight? How will you celebrate New Year’s Eve? Let’s celebrate right now by reviewing our keywords. Here is our first keyword:
party
"I’ll bring cookies to the party."
light
"The sky is light blue."
reporter
"The reporters asked some questions."
beard
"Thomas is growing a beard."
thin
"That guy is really tall and thin."
Friends, those are today’s keywords. You can use them to describe people. Now it’s your turn. The keywords for today are party, light, reporter, beard, and thin. Now, it’s your turn to use them in a sentence.
Ivy’s favorite color is pink. You got it!
"Ivy’s favorite color is light pink."
Who is that really thin girl?
"Who is that really thin girl?"
Twenty people came to her party.
"20 people came to her party."
His beard is turning gray.
"His beard is turning gray."
Jason is a very good reporter.
"Jason is a very good reporter."
And you are a very good English learner! So keep learning and have a happy New Year!
So, Julie, you’re having a New Year’s Eve party?
That’s right. Are you coming?
Of course! But I was wondering something. What?
Why don’t you invite some of our new co-workers? Then we could get to know them better.
That’s a great idea! Who were you thinking of?
Olivia Mead. She works in business. Is she the tall woman with light brown hair and glasses?
That’s her. I’ll invite her.
You should invite Paul Davis too.
Who’s he?
He’s a new reporter.
Oh, right. He’s the one with dark curly hair and a beard, right?
Yes, he’s really into sports, so he’s thin with an athletic build.
All right, I’ll invite him too.
I had lunch with him the other day. He’s a fun guy and very nice. He just might be the life of the party.
Great, this is going to be a fun party.
Hey, Happy New Year!
James, Happy New Year! Ginger, can we start the party now?
Not yet. We’re still waiting for others.
So, who are we waiting for?
Olivia.
Oh, the tall woman with brown hair and glasses?
That’s right.
Who else?
Paul is coming.
Paul with dark curly hair and a fuzzy beard.
That’s right. He’s a new reporter.
I like his fuzzy beard. I think he’s cute.
Haha, and he’s funny too. He’s the life of the party.
No way, I’m the life of the party!
So Ginger, what are your New Year plans?
Don’t you know?
I’m going to the jungle to visit my family.
Oh, I didn’t know that.
Yeah, so you won’t see me for a little bit, but when I come back, I’ll stop by.
Okay, well, have fun.
Yeah, Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
See you next time. Bye!
Hey, do you remember the name of our new coworker?
Yeah, he is tall and thin, and he has dark hair and wears glasses.
Chris, that’s right!
Thank you so much.
Hi everyone, I’m Jack. Haha!
I couldn’t remember someone’s name, so I had to describe him.
Can you describe a person’s looks?
You can describe a person in many ways. They may be young or old.
You can talk about their height. They may be tall, short, or average.
You can talk about their hair too. Do they have long straight hair, or is it short and curly?
It may be brown, black, gray, blonde, or red. These days, it may be green or purple too.
But some people are bald, they have no hair, and some people shave their heads.
Then you can say they have a shaved head.
You can also say if someone has a beard or wears glasses.
You can also talk about eye color. Are the person’s eyes blue, like the sky, or brown, like chocolate? Sometimes people even have green eyes.
And you can also mention body size. It’s okay to say someone is thin, but you don’t want to call someone fat. That’s not polite.
You can say someone is big or is heavy, or he or she is a large man or woman.
When I walk around the city, I see different kinds of people. Most have dark hair, but sometimes I see blonde hair or hair of other colors. People are tall or short. They are thin or sometimes large.
It’s fun to watch people, don’t you think? Alright, that’s all for today. Goodbye everyone, see you next time on Jack’s File.
Friends, today is New Year’s Eve. It is December 31st, and people will celebrate in many ways.
Yeah, you might have a big family dinner. That’s what our family often did growing up.
Or you might go out to a party or a concert with your friends.
Some people might go downtown and join a countdown.
Yes, they will count down until the New Year starts, usually by watching fireworks.
Those are like big explosives with beautiful lights. They’re fun to see on New Year’s Eve.
Friends, we hope that you’ll celebrate New Year’s Eve, whether you’re at home or whether you go out.
And we’ll see you again tomorrow, right here on Let’s Talk in English. Goodbye!
