Here’s the corrected version of the text with the changes you've requested:
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Let’s Talk in English. My name is Esther.
And my name is Garrett.
You’re joining us for a visual lesson,
and the name of our lesson is Cranberry Sauce Recipe.
Yes, cranberry sauce is a popular side dish this time of year. Today,
in our visual,
we want to give you a recipe,
so you can know how to make it yourself. If you want to follow
along with us,
open up your magazines to read these steps with us.
Here’s step one: Rinse the cranberries.
Step two: Put sugar, orange juice, and water in a pot. Let it boil.
Step three: Add the cranberries and orange peel.
Step four: Cook and stir the ingredients until the cranberries burst.
Step five: Turn off the stove and let the cranberry sauce cool.
Step six: Cover the cranberry sauce and put it in the refrigerator.
It can keep for up to two weeks. Alright, friends,
those are the steps to make this cranberry sauce. Now,
in the recipe in your magazine,
you can also see a list of all the things
you will need to prepare.
And you can enjoy this
if you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this month.
Right now, let’s go to Sonya,
who will teach us today’s keywords.
This recipe’s directions are pretty simple.
You can use fresh or frozen cranberries.
Just rinse the cranberries first.
Then they burst.
You cover it and put it in the refrigerator.
Julie:Do you have a good recipe for cranberry sauce?
I do! I can find it now and send it to you. Just a second!
Thanks! This recipe’s directions are pretty simple,
and there aren’t too many ingredients.
I like that you can use fresh or frozen cranberries
for this recipe.
Just rinse the cranberries first.
Alright,
James wants to prepare for a fall feast, it sounds like,
but he needs a special recipe,
so he’s asking Julie,
and he wants to know
if Julie has a good recipe, something
she’s used before that tastes delicious.
He wants a recipe for cranberry sauce.
A recipe is a list of steps and ingredients
for how to make a dish, and cranberries are a special berry
that some people enjoy.
Making sauce with cranberries is a little sour,
and they are very small and round,
and you can buy them fresh at the supermarket,
or you can also buy them frozen. Well,
Julie says she does have a good recipe for cranberry sauce.
She can find it now and send it over to James.
She just wants him to wait
a little bit—she says, “just a second!”
Just a second doesn’t just mean one second.
It means in a very short while.
Sonya,
can you help us with phrases that start with "just" when we talk about time?
Sonya:
Just a second.
而 just a second 指的是稍等一會兒,
或是 can you wait just a minute?
I’ll help you in just a moment.
Thank you, Sonya.
And Julie does send the recipe to James.
James looks at the recipe and he says,
“This recipe’s directions are pretty simple, yeah.”
The directions are the instructions
or those steps for what to do, kind of like
the directions
you might give someone if they’re telling them
how to get somewhere.
Right, the directions are the "how to."
And Julie tells James that there are not too many ingredients.
The ingredients are the things you need when you cook a food
or follow a recipe.
Sometimes when you’re cooking,
it can be useful to prepare all your ingredients
first before you start that first step.
That way, you won’t be constantly looking for things
while you’ve already started. That can be stressful.
It sure can.
And James likes it that the directions are not too hard
and there are not too many ingredients.
Julie tells us,
you can use fresh or frozen cranberries for this recipe,
but remember to rinse the cranberries first.
Right, when you rinse something,
you’re going to put it through water and make sure
it is clean.
Now, if you get frozen cranberries,
it means the cranberries have been put in the freezer,
and they are a little bit hard
because they are very cold. Yeah,
they’re probably covered in ice,
so I’m guessing you might need to let them sit for a little while
before you make that sauce.
Now, Garrett,
do you also like cranberry sauce,
and do you ever make it?
Garrett:
I think it’s pretty good,
especially around this time of year,
but I’ve never made it myself, and I really like cranberry sauce,
especially with turkey.
Esther:
I also make it. I follow a recipe similar to Julie's recipe.
Hmm, sounds good.
Well, friends,
it’s time now for us to take a quick break,
before we talk more about how James might make this delicious cranberry sauce.
We’ll be right back just after this.
Welcome back to the show, everyone!
Today, we’re talking about cranberry sauce,
but I think we should talk about that word sauce a little bit.
Sure, a sauce is a liquid or a thick liquid
you add to food.
It can be sweet or savory.
Savory means it tastes a little bit salty.
Exactly! Sauces are usually things you dip other foods into to
give them more flavor. Cranberry sauce,
though, might be something
you enjoy just by itself.
Let’s continue to talk more about cranberry sauce.
You cook them for about ten minutes, then they burst, right?
Yes,
then you turn off the stove
and let it cool for 30 minutes. After that, you cover it
and put it in the refrigerator,
and it’s ready.
That’s right.
You can keep it for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
Alright, so if you’re following along with this
recipe, you’ve got some cranberries now and you’ve rinsed them.
You’ve put them through some water, then, of course,
you need to cook them, right?
Right, and when you cook them,
you’re going to add your orange juice.
You cook them in this orange juice
and the sugar,
and you need to cook them for about ten minutes.
James says, "Then they burst, right?" If something bursts,
it kind of explodes or opens up.
That’s what happens to fruits like cranberries
when you cook them, right?
Because when they burst,
then the flavor, the sugar,
and the orange juice can go into and mix with the cranberries.
Julie says,
“Yes, you need to cook them until they burst. Then,
after they do, you turn off the stove
and let it cool for 30 minutes.”
You don’t want that sauce to still be hot.
When your cranberry sauce has cooled,
then you need to cover it and put it in the refrigerator.
If you don’t cover some things and then put them in the refrigerator,
they might take on some of the flavors of other things
in your fridge,
and it won’t taste very good.
So cover your sauce and put it in the refrigerator.
Make sure there’s something over the top.
You can use a piece of plastic
or even a plate,
or if you have a covering, then cover it,
and then it will be ready.
Yeah, and it’s ready!
What’s ready?
It’s today’s calendar phrase,
and it’s ready!
And it’s ready!
Is my sandwich ready?
Let me cut it, and it’s ready. Yay!
Is my milk ready?
Let me pour it, and it’s ready.
Is my banana ready?
Let me peel it.
Go, and it’s ready!
Now you can eat. Great!
I’m ready.
I’m hungry, and it’s ready, and it’s ready.
Thank you so much for that calendar phrase.
Well, that is right.
It is already, once you’ve put your sauce into the refrigerator,
and it’s cooled. Do you need to eat it that same day, Esther?
No, you don’t. And the reason is it can keep
in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
That means that it won’t go bad for up to 14 days
if you put it in the refrigerator.
If you keep it in there for 15 days or more,
it might start to go bad.
So you can’t wait forever, but it is something you can
prepare a few days before whatever big meal
you’re going to have it with.
So keep it for up to two weeks.
Up to is a phrase that we can add to time.
You can say, “up to a month”
or “up to a year” when you buy food.
There is always a date called the expiry date
that tells you how long
you can keep that food.
Let’s go to Sonya for more on this.
Sonya:
You can keep it for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
Up to twenty people can join the tour.
He can work up to ten hours a day.
The meeting could last up to three hours.
Thank you, Sonya.
Well, this was a very useful recipe.
If you want to make cranberry sauce,
I might have to try it sometime.
But I was thinking of something—what if you used the same recipe,
but instead of cranberries,
used some other berry?
That sounds like a good idea!
Maybe you could try it with blueberries or even blackberries.
You could make so many different things.
You could mix and match different flavors.
Friends, cooking really is fun when you try new things.
Right? It’s like science!
It’s like doing science experiments. You make,
and you invent new dishes.
Well, we had fun talking about this with you,
and now it’s time for us to review today’s keywords.
Here is our first keyword: frozen.
Frozen.
I can’t cut the chicken; it’s frozen.
Directions.
Directions.
Read the directions to me, please.
Rinse.
Rinse.
Rinse the dirt off your shoes.
Burst.
Burst.
The pipe burst; water is everywhere.
Cover.
Cover.
Cover the soup to keep it hot.
Friends, those are today’s key words.
You’re doing a wonderful job,
and now it’s your turn.
The keywords for today are: frozen, directions, rinse, burst, and cover.
Now, it’s your turn to use them in a sentence.
First one:
Please cover the food.
Correct!
Next:
Can you follow the directions?
You’re right!
Next:
The balloons burst under the hot sun.
You got it!
Next:
Take out some frozen meat, please.
Good answer!
Last one:
Rinse your plate and dry it.
You’re correct!
Friends, we’re all out of time.
Remember to come again tomorrow for your turn!
Goodbye, friends!
