Cal Poly Pomona Soccer Camp was the activity I loved most. I had a great 5 hour playing time over there and the coaches were all very nice. Basically, I went there because I wanted to enhance my soccer skills to get myself ready for the upcoming season where we will welcome tougher and better players, and I didn't want myself on the bench in league game for too long, as I always was. I guess that's a little polishing for the skills...

Cal Poly has a giant soccer field, and it's like 10 times bigger than the one in the university near home, it also has plenty of shade and benches for the athletes to rest. I had a lot of playing time and so did my friends.We all had a lot of fun.

We start each day with drills like throwing a ball to anyplace, and players run to get it. The object is to shoot the ball into the goal. the last group who didn't get the ball in gets eliminated.

Also, we do dribbling drills. The coaches set up cones and tell us to dribble single foot, both feet or backwards. Often, people trip and fall over! Luckily the field is very grassy.

Sometimes we play games of kickball. The rules are similar to those of baseball, but you kick instead of batting the ball. Because all of us from Taiwan isn't really familiar with this game, we often go to the remote spots of outfield, leaving the American kids at the bases.

In the day, we scrimmage and play some championship games. Those games are made up with approximately 7 kids aside and with 4 teams, which 3 of them are given colorful vests. Once, at one of the games, I was goalie, [and I knew I wasn't anything like a goalie] and I lost five balls in a row to the opposing team! I was so upset after that, I didn't play the next game! To my relief, my teammates wanted me at midfield after that...

One of the coaches said his grandparents were Taiwanese, and they lived really near to Taipei 101, so it was only a 5 minute walk. Because the coach speaks Chinese, so our teacher often told about us to him in Chinese!

In the last day of camp, we had each recieved a Cal Poly Pomona Broncos Soccer Shirt and a soccer ball. I chose an pink[yuk] 2008 Adidas Europass soccer ball, and my best friend Vivian chose a white soccer ball with no markings but a large Nike logo on it. That was pretty cool and it was the only one in that sack!

We all went to the arcade after this, and it was in the Bronco Student Center! The games were all pretty good, but we had too little time over there. I played a Sega Horse Game, and so did Vivian. It was called Sega Derby Owners, and you get to choose your own sire and dam, enter the foal into horse races and try to win the championship! That was the only game I played, and I didn't spend too much money on it, so don't worry mom!
