Perhaps they have vast lands, or they have better urban designing, Americans boast of many large parks everywhere. Lying on the peripheral area of the parks, children playing ground, jogging and walking path, basketball and tennis courts, and maybe some public or community swimming pools are there to encompass a stretch of large, green lawn. Except some people playing frisbees with their dogs and holding occasional outdoor concerts, the human activity mostly seen in the lawns is soccer playing. Strange enough, almost always the players I've seen are girls under 12. They use moveable nets as makeshift goals, cones to indicate sidelines, and they are wearing uniforms and even having coaches to guide them. The girls all have fun kicking, dribbling, passing, and scrambling for balls. All I've found on their faces are passion and earnestness. I am not sure, but it must be part of American system which has successful led America the long-standing number one in women's soccer ball. Remeber that legendary Mia Hamm? She is still American national heroine, a favorite of media and advertisement until now. But her comtemporary rival Sun Wen(孫雯), once world Miss Soccer ball of the year, is not as that lucky in China. P.S. Attached below is the online couplets with heavy sarcasm on China men's soccer team: (Someone please do something: we can save panda from extinction; why can't we save our soccer teams, then?)
