A lower back pain on the right side has afflicted me for months. While in Taipei, I tried many ways to tackle with it, such as electrotherapy, hot compress, massage, even lying on golf balls over the pain area, but all to no avail. Now, I found a traditional Chinese clinic in the plaza in the vincinity of my place, and I decided to try it. The therapist suggested me take acupuncture. I have tried twice, and my pain has alleviated, though not that significantly. (The fee is not cheap, $80 per time.) I think we seniors must keep a correct gesture whenever we stand, sit, or walk to prevent the pain from happening on our bodies. Try hard not to slouch any time. As a Chinese old saying goes: stand as a pine, sleep as a bow. |
