兄妹(中、英、西文)  王克難 Claire Wang-Lee

他、她們從小靑梅竹馬,1949年中國內戰,全國人心惶惶,兩家用重金合買了姓朱一家人的假美國公民証,讓他們改了名字,成了公民証上的強尼、朱與芬妮、朱"親"兄妹跟著新爸爸媽媽,來到新大陸.

到了美國,強尼與芬妮兩人在新爸爸媽媽開的餐館一天十幾小時苦工,替新爸爸媽媽賺錢.只要兩人在一起.餐館一樓營業,"新"爸爸媽媽住二樓,強尼,芬妮住在餐館閣樓.

日子過得快,兩人已經十七、八歲.

芬妮懷孕了,新爸媽安排她跟餐館一個剛顧來廚子閃電結婚,生下一個兒子,強尼愛那孩子如己出,

廚子汹酒賭博,看見強尼對自己的 "太太" "孩子" 好,非常 不高興.一日酒醉,竟拿了廚刀將強尼砍成重傷.自己也坐牢.

強尼傷好,行動不便,一日竟從樓梯上摔下來死亡.他的保險費,使那孩子能一路上好的學校,後來考進醫學院,成了一名很好的醫生,芬妮一直在餐館工作,沒有再婚.

Brother and Sister 

He and she were childhood sweethearts. In 1949's Civil War, the Chinese wanted to escape the impending disaster. Many of them tried to go to Hong Kong then relocate to America via false citizenship papers. His and her family each purchased one slot on a false citizenship paper for him and her of paper of three children. They became brother and sister of the new Huang family. He became Johnny Huang and she became Fanny Huang.

The Huang family arrived in the States. They started a family restaurant business. As brother and sister he and she worked hard for their new parents so they could stay together.

The family restaurant was at the first floor. The second floor was the living quarters for the Huang parents. The attic was for Johnny, Fanny and the other Huang child.

Johnny and Fanny became teenagers. They vowed in secret never be apart.

Fanny became pregnant. The Huang family married her off  hastily to a new chef Lue who drank and gambled of the restaurant.

A boy was born to Fanny and was named Victor. Johnny was overjoyed. Lue couldn't stand the attention Johnny paid to his wife and son. One night after being drunk, he hacked at Johnny with a butcher knife. Johnny was badly wounded and Lue was thrown into jail.

After Johnny recovered from his wounds, he became lame and could hardly work. One day he fell from the staircase, hit his head and died.

In later years the insurance money on Johnny allowed the son, Victor, to go to medical school and he became a successful doctor. Fanny worked in the restaurant and never married.

El hermano y la hermana

Él y ella eran novios de la niñez.

 En la Guerra Civil de 1949, los chinos querían escapar del desastre inminente.
