① The usual political arguments… may be silenced中的silenced是被動語態的動詞，指「被噤聲」，也就是不再如以往可以任意討論政治。

② polarize原是動詞「極端化」，此處polarizing是現在分詞作形容詞，修飾後面的名詞片語political climate。而political climate若直譯成「政治氣候」，聽起來生硬不自然，可轉化譯為「政治氛圍」。

③ feel comfortable talking about…（愉快談論某事）是常見的搭配，而此處no longer feel comfortable talking about political beliefs是否定的用法。
