THE UGLY DUCKLING

劇中角色
醜小鴨：灰色，由Minnie & Titan兩人分飾。Minnie出現在於第一、第二幕，Titan出現於第三幕。
母鴨：Ashly飾演。
九隻黃小鴨
五隻白天鵝(由九隻黃小鴨中的五位小朋友來擔任)
老母鴨：腿上綁著紅條，Melody飾演。
大鴨子：Chris飾演。
母雞：Vivian飾演。
狗：棕色，Junior飾演。
貓：黑色，Lulu飾演。
老太婆：身穿圍群，鼻子上架著眼鏡。Jimmy反串。
獵人：Olie飾演。
小男孩：James飾演。

舞台布景
舞台右後方兩堆草叢﹑左後方一堆草叢
舞台正後方：一棟房屋

第一幕

母鴨在草叢邊生下了九隻黃色小鴨，一隻一隻從舞台右後方的草叢裡走出來。母鴨從舞台右方走入舞台，在舞臺中央呼喚她的寶貝。
母鴨(拍手)：Come out! My baby!

九隻小鴨聽手搖鈴或鈴鼓的指示，依次從草叢裏走出來，並輪流唱著 “Ten Little Ducklings” (改編自 “Ten Little Indian Boys”)。

母鴨與小鴨們齊唱(現場打擊樂器—高低音木魚伴奏)：
One little, two little, three little ducklings
Four little, five little, six little ducklings
Seven little, eight little, nine little ducklings
Ten little ducklings

九隻小鴨與母鴨在舞臺中央站定位，排成半圓形。唱完後，母鴨喘著氣說：Well, I’ve done all the things.
母鴨看著草叢邊上一顆大大的蛋說：Only this, it’s still very quiet…
ㄧ隻老母鴨從舞台右邊跑到蛋邊，吃驚地說：It’s turkey’s egg.

正說著躲在蛋後面的一隻體積較大的灰色小鴨將蛋（用破裂ㄧ半的紙板做蛋合起來架在舞台上）扯破從裏面走出。

母鴨：You’re so big.
第一隻小鴨：He is not like a duck.
第二隻小鴨：He is so big.
第三隻小鴨：He is not like me.
第四隻小鴨：He is so strange.
第五隻小鴨：He is so ugly.
第六隻小鴨：He is not like a turkey.
第七隻小鴨：He is so fat.
第八隻小鴨：He is really so ugly.
第九隻小鴨：I don’t like him!
母鴨：Alright! I’ll take you to swim tomorrow.
老母鴨：If he dared swim, he is a duck, not a turkey.
母鴨對著小鴨們︰Let’s go!

(燈光：舞台右半邊打水波紋
音樂：A Summer Place)
母鴨帶著小鴨們划水從舞台左方出，大鴨子與老母鴨留在舞台左半側，巡視農莊。母鴨再著小鴨們從右方舞台划進，在舞台右半邊草叢前的池塘游水。大鴨子與母鴨在一旁對鴨群指指點點、嘲笑醜小鴨。母鴨帶著小鴨游上岸……
(音樂停)

母鴨指著老母鴨，對著小鴨們說：She is the oldest duck here. We should respect her.

所有的小鴨都向老母鴨敬禮。

一旁的大鴨子高聲說：Look! There is an ugly duckling. He is so disgusting. (邊說邊跑去啄了醜小鴨的脖子)
母鴨：He is fine. Why you bully him?
大鴨子：I don’t like him!
老母鴨：Your kids are so pretty. Only this is so ugly!
鴨兄弟姐妹們圍著醜小鴨嘲笑牠，大家一起大聲說：Let cat take you away! Let cat eat you!
醜小鴨嚇得跑到母鴨身旁，母鴨罵牠：Go away!

群鴨一起大聲嘲笑醜小鴨，醜小鴨落寞的從舞台左方跑出。

第二幕

(燈光：全舞台打樹影
音樂：Vinicius Catuaria #9 Corre Campo)
獵人與狗從舞台右方入，群鴨們看到獵人嚇得從舞台左方出。醜小鴨躲在草叢邊發抖。

狗聞著醜小鴨，用鼻子把醜小鴨頂開：Go away! Quickly!
獵人：Hary! Come here!

狗聽到主人呼喊，往主人處走去，然後跟著主人離開舞台，從左方退。
(音樂停)

醜小鴨：Even a dog doesn’t like me!

（燈光：屋後打深藍光，屋前舞台正前方打黃光）
（音樂：The Rose and The Gun #10 Caesar Smith）
醜小鴨(四處張望，看到舞台中央有棟房子，很高興)：Wow! Great! A house!(走到舞台正中央的門邊坐下來)

貓與母雞從舞台右方走進舞台，在門邊走來走去，發現了醜小鴨。

貓：Miaow, miaow…
母雞：Coucou, coucou…
(音樂停)

老太婆：What’s the matter? What’s the matter?
老太婆看著醜小鴨：Wow! A big duck! I’m so lucky. I’m going to have eggs!
老太婆領著醜小鴨走到舞台左前方，放下ㄧ個盤子：You can stay. Lay eggs here. (老太婆從舞台左方出)

醜小鴨站在盤子前面，母雞也跟著走到舞台右前方，拿出盤子放在地下，一顆雞蛋放在盤子裏。

醜小鴨：I want to swim.
母雞很生氣：Go swimming? Are you crazy?
貓：I don’t like water.
醜小鴨：I’m different from you!
母雞：What? What’s the difference? You should learn how to lay eggs!
醜小鴨：But I like the sunshine and fresh air. I’d like to go outside and see the world.
貓與母雞：Really? Do you really want to go out? Okay, then, go out! (貓與母雞指著大門說)

醜小鴨迫不及待地走入舞台後方佈景門內。

第三幕

起風了。
（燈光：藍色水波紋）
（音樂：Jingo Music: #1 The Wind of Chang）
五隻天鵝在河中愉快的游泳，醜小鴨在一旁羨慕又害羞的看著牠們，並想加入牠們，成為牠們其中的一員。牠看著水中自己的倒影，在看著自己的左右雙翼，才發現過了一個延長寒冬的自己，已變成一隻美麗的白天鵝了。

旁白：The Ugly duckling went back to the lake. At the lake, he saw something new and strange. He saw swans! They were white with long graceful necks. He wanted to meet the beautiful birds, but he was afraid they would tease him.

Spring came after winter. Now the ugly duckling had an amazing change. He did not know that he already became a beautiful swan. When the swans saw the ugly duckling, they clapped their wings happily. The ugly duckling gazed at his reflection in the river and cheerfully said (已變成白天鵝的醜小鴨從舞台右方飛入，在舞台中央站定，往地上看了看，笑著大聲說)：I become a swan now.

此時，五隻白天鵝從舞台左右兩方飛入，快樂地邀請醜小鴨加入牠們。於是，牠們一起在舞臺中央快樂的唱著 “Row, row, row your boat”：
旁白：Come on everybody, let’s sing with these beautiful birds. They would like to share the joy with you!
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream (正常速度，兩遍)
旁白：Now we make it faster!(兩遍)

ㄧ個小男孩在舞台右方草叢後散步，當歌聲結束時，小男孩走進舞台右前方，指著醜小鴨：Look! Look! There is a new white swan. It’s so beautiful!
