In the summer of 2009, I had the opportunity to visit Vienna, Austria in the continent of Europe. This country is best known for its classical music because Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Strauss all lived there. The 3 of them are well-known for their classical music; they play the piano. Vienna, Austria is also best known for its exquisite cuisines. We went to Austria for 9 days and the hotel we stayed in was Hotel Vienna. It was such a nice hotel because there was a gym for us to exercise, a sauna and much more amenities. We visited many famous land marks: Schloss Schunbrunn Palace in Vienna, Stephensdom Church in Vienna, Salzburg, Prater (an amusement park in Vienna), Stift Melk in Melk Abbey and Krems. We also got to taste the many foods from Austria and it was delicious. There are also so many places to shop in Austria and some things there are pretty expensive. Schonbrunn Palace is the most incredible landmark; there is a waterfall and many plants surrounding it. The drive from Vienna to Salzburg took about 4 hours there. Haus der Musik was an interesting hands-on museum because we got to play with so many musical instruments. Prater was so much fun; it's like a Disneyland in Austria. We went on numerous rides: ferris wheel, bumper cars, mini roller coaster and one where you lie flat on your stomach (that was kind of like a roller coaster too). The Prater ferris wheel is at least 100 years old and the view from it is breathtaking because you can see so many buildings and famous landmarks. Can you actually believe that inside this amusement park has a casino? I've never even seen such a thing! Krems is well-known for apricots the people in Krems hold an apricot festival once a year. The weather in Austria is so nice and you won't believe it. It doesn't actually get dark until 9:00pm!! And I would like to say: Dankeshun (thank you in German). On the way back from Austria, we had to stop at Bangor, Maine. Maine is well-known for lobsters!!
I will put some pictures up from Vienna, Austria! It will be under albums titled Vienna, Austria.
