Summary
Lin Xiaoyang, a travel writer, goes to Paradise Inn by the Lake Lucerne in Europe to search for his missing girlfriend, Xie Huijun. Little did he know that the inn was the headquarters of vampires, and he gets caught up in the struggle between the two factions of vampires. He meets Huang Lihua, a painter who is an old vampire trapped in the inn against his will. Lihua warns Xiaoyang to leave the inn on the Ghost Festival to avoid being caught by the vampires. Xiaoyang leaves and returns later to take the film roll from Lihuas hand and bring Lihuas works to be exhibited in Paris. Later, Xiaoyang is entrusted with an important mission by Lihua to assist Princess Maria in defeating the ambitious demon king Anderson in the future. Anderson launches a massive attack, but with the cooperation of various armies and Princess Marias leadership, they manage to defeat Anderson and Roof, who retreats in time.

Story synopsis.

Travel writer Lin Xiaoyang came to Europe for a self-guided tour and stayed at the Paradise Inn by the Lake Lucerne to search for his missing girlfriend Xie Huijun. Unknowingly, Xiaoyang stepped into the dark world of vampires, as the inn is the headquarters of the bloodsuckers. He got caught up in the struggle between the two factions of vampires.

Xiaoyang met the painter Huang Lihua who lived in his rooms mural. Lihua told Xiaoyang that he was an old vampire trapped in the inn against his will. Xiaoyang sympathized with Lihuas situation and they became friends. On the Ghost Festival, Lihua warned Xiaoyang to leave the inn in time to avoid being caught by the vampires. Lihua was arrested and punished, turned into a stone statue. Xiaoyang was grateful for Lihuas sacrifice and returned to the inn to take the film roll from Lihuas hand and brought Lihuas works to be exhibited in Paris. Later, Princess Maria learned of Lihuas predicament and ordered her General, the Dragon Knight, to lead the Iron-Blooded Guards to sweep Andersons evil minions who occupied the Paradise Inn and rescue Huang Lihua.

Archmage Rufus unexpectedly discovered Lin Xiaoyang, who was reincarnated from David, in the image of the magic crystal ball. He reported this to the leader Anderson. Anderson was quite wary of David because he had once been a defeated subordinate. Rufus strongly advocated for recruiting Lin Xiaoyang to strengthen the team, and Anderson accepted Rufuss opinion. Rufus used a seduction plan and sent his female disciple, Annie, to Paris to approach Xiaoyang. Lin Xiaoyang gradually developed his own potential with the help of his mentor and friend, Father Chen Yuehan. He was inspired by martial arts comics and mastered a mysterious sword technique. Father Chen Yuehan strongly assisted the princess and first defeated the couple of assassins, Lorna and Keith, under General Andersons command. Then, in a fight at the Paradise Hotel, he joined forces with Lin Xiaoyang to injure the phantoms George and Jack, who were the left and right-hand men under Andersons command, forcing the former to retire by giving up his martial arts and causing the latter to commit suicide.

Anderson, due to his resentment over the loss of his two henchmen, Phantom Hand George and Scissorhand Jack, who were severed by Princess Maria, launched a massive attack with the intent to create chaos and panic by massacring innocent citizens in major cities like Naples and Florence. Under the guidance of the Archmage Roof, he divided his army into three groups, with White Wolf and Black Bear leading separate bat armies, and aimed to draw out Marias Iron Blood Guards by tempting her to deploy them in Italy, in order to keep them occupied while his main force crossed the border into Switzerland to directly assault the Heavens Hotel and the Sky Castle.

Father John Chen was cunning and resourceful, coordinating with the Vaticans exorcism army led by Father Strengthen and Marias Iron Blood Guards to support the Italian police, sweeping and pacifying the two bat armies under the command of the White Wolf and the Black Bear, respectively, and stabilizing the situation. He also personally went to the Italian-Swiss border checkpoint to organize local police and militia to defend against Andersons bat army. Andersons main force encountered strong resistance when crossing the border, and after several rounds of fire attacks, his vampire army was reduced to only dozens of survivors, greatly reducing the pressure on the Heavens Hotel.

However, the Holy Sees demon-hunting army and the Iron Blood Guard pursued them and tracked them all the way to Sicily. With the help of insiders, they forced the White Wolf and Black Bear generals to surrender, finally putting an end to Andersons remaining forces.

Wong Man-Wah returned to the Paradise Inn for vacation and rekindled his relationship with Lin Hsiao-Yang. They got married under the auspices of Wong Lap-Wah and Chen Yueh-Chung. Princess Maria gave the newlyweds a pair of Eastern swords, and Lin Hsiao-Yang gained insight into the mysteries of Tai Chi and Yin-Yang from the Book of Changes. Together with Wong Man-Wah, they developed a new sword technique called "Desolate Soul," which was extremely powerful and formidable.

Chen and Lin Xiaoyangs group were attacked by the lizard tribe in Hells Valley, and several wolf warriors were injured. Lin Xiaoyang and his wife, Huang Minhua, worked together to capture the lizard tribe leader, forcing them to retreat and successfully passing through Hells Valley. The group arrived at the monster forest and was attacked by spiders, scorpions, centipedes, and other large insects in succession, but luckily, Lin Xiaoyang and Huang Minhua used their sharp swordsmanship to kill several attacking insects. Under the protection of the couple, only a few brothers in the team were injured. The group successfully passed through the monster forest and arrived at the mouth of the Ghost Valley. They then followed Long En back to the Wolf Tribes settlement.

When Yuehan and his party met with Maria, they did not bring the Sun Staff. Yuehan relayed Xiaoyangs message, and Maria realized that the price she paid for her love for the ruler of the dark world was losing David (Lin Xiaoyang), her lover from a past life.

After Xiaoyang and Huang Minhua spent several days circling the Wolf Tribes settlement, they flew back to Taiwan together. Maria was not satisfied and wanted Xiaoyang back by her side. She assigned Huang Lihua to be her representative in Taiwan to help manage the order of the dark world. However, Lihua knew that this Asian trip would be in vain. He came to Tamsui and unexpectedly found the young couple, who had become street artists. Lihua explained his purpose but encouraged them to choose their own way of life.
