Your poem of the betel nut recalls me the song," 採檳榔". While typing the feedback, I am singing the song joyfully. A betel nut is a kind of refreshment for those labor workers or truck drivers who need them to keep away from dozing off at work or on duty. Chewing betel nuts for those labor workers or drivers is like chewing gums for those teenagers who have to stay energetic over night for exams. Although we all know that it is not good for health to chew up too many betel nuts, we still couldn't deny the power of the betel nuts, the culture of spicy girls who wear spicy dresses, the economic revenues for planting or selling betal nuts, the environmental problems which result from planting too many betel- nut trees. After all, everything is like the two sides of one coin. Lots of family's financial support comes from planting, selling, buying or chewing betel nuts. |
