這幾天台灣最熱門的體育新聞應該是旅美投手王建民被紐約洋基隊釋出為自由球員的消息。有些球迷因為阿民的前途未卜而擔心難過，也有些球迷相信以阿民的實力，不管效力哪支隊伍，終將有耀眼的表現。看到阿民，就讓我想到 still waters run deep 這句諺語。大家都知道，表面看起來波動得很厲害的河流通常很淺，而表面平靜的水流通常才會深不見底，這句話直譯是「平靜的水流得很深」，意思是「深沈的海域儘管底下流動得很激烈，可是表面上卻什麼也看不出來」，用來闡述「人不可貌相，海水不可斗量」、「靜水常深」的道理，亦即雖然某個人看起來很安靜，甚至不出色，可是他可能很有料，完全不像外表所顯現的樣子。阿民在球場內外總是沈默寡言，贏球了也從不居功，永遠一派低調、謙恭，可說是 still waters run deep的代表，令人佩服。讓我們一起為他加油！

A: 真不敢相信老闆會選馬先生當副手…，他看起來很害羞呢。

B: 不過聽說他是他上一個公司的業績推手耶，讓業績在兩年內就成長了一倍。

A: 可是你看他木訥寡言，一副很好欺負的樣子。

B: 你說得有道理，不過聽說他私底下口才很好耶。

A: 我打賭老闆是故意找個好欺負的人來當副手啦。

B: 喂，別忘了，靜水常深喔。
