湖山勝處放翁家， Nestled in the lake and hill is my home
槐柳陰中野徑斜。Secluded beneath the willows and sophoras is the silent trail.
水滿有時觀下鷺， The herons fly when the lake is full
草深無處不鳴蛙。The frogs croak when the grass is deep
籜龍已過頭番筍， The bamboo shoots are sprouting
木筆猶開第一花。 and the magnolia flowers are blossoming
嘆息老來交舊盡， Lament where all my old friends are,
睡來誰共午甌茶。 Who would enjoy a cup of tea with me?
PS: Now is mid-June in Taiwan, the early summer of the island. But who could bear the unbearable heat of this "early summer"?
