Today, when I was riding a bus, there came a couple of middle-aged passengers, a man and a woman, at some stop. No sooner had they stepped on the bus than their deafening pitch of talking overran the rumble out of the motor of the bus. Because of the nonstandard Mandarin, I did not understand what they were actually shouting at, so fanatically without any breaks that it was like they were fighting over something. The couple yelled to each other like there was no one else on the bus, and they totally ignored the odd, disgusting, or even warning glances cast on them from orher passengers. Their ugly "performance of shout," did not end even when they alighted from the bus and walked down the street.
What an uncouth and uncivilized scene that took place in Taipei nowadays.
