The day before yesterday I found three different edtions of the masterpieces on the translation of “木蘭辭” and posted them in my blog, which had left me no more room to add another one myself.  (Actually, the ballad may be too hard for me to give it an acceptable translation.)

Mulan is a heroine indeed.  In classic Chinese heroines are generally refered to as "巾幗英雄".  So I decided to translate the namesake song, in which Mulan is also mentioned.  Again, my work can hardly be called a translation; it is just my interpretation to that famous song.  I do hope you like it, either the song or my "translation".

Elan surges in my heart, hot blood stirs within my vessels 

念興亡有責何以為家，

Unfinished duties towards my country takes precedence over my family life.

木蘭從軍，良玉殺賊，不羨鹿車，

I would rather be a latter-day Mulan or Liangyu than a clinging lass with vanity.   

誰是英雄？誰是壯士？

Who is the hero?  Who is the brave?

揮戈落日，開天闢地 

I am.  I shall challenge the invincible Sun to make the world start again, from which I will pursue the

立德、立功、立言

immortal virtue, feat, and words of my own

我愛他，我愛他，我愛我的中華。

for her, for her, for my beloved China motherland.
