音樂劇Jekyll and Hyde(變身怪醫)中,Dr. Jekyll發明一個新藥,他相信能救治精神異常、意識喪失的人們,包括他自己的父親。但在履遭醫院董事會拒絕人體實驗後,決定自己以身試藥。這個決定的歌就是This is the moment。

這首歌由「期待」、「肯定」到最後「相信」,層次分明極為激勵人心。這首曲子1990年代問世後,幾乎成為許多運動會、選美甚至是競選活動很愛用的曲目,不僅在歐美紅,日、韓、泰、菲這曲子都算為人所知。

只是,令人不解的,在Jekyll and Hyde中,這首歌也是Dr. Jekyll最高峰時,之後就是災難的開始,一路走向自己的滅亡。

河西羊不解這些外國人為什麼會拿一首這樣的歌,來做為「追求夢想」的主題曲。一直到最近一個月,更深入於基督教與教會之中,對This is the moment這首歌,感受到新的心靈意義。

「期待」、「肯定」、「相信」,這首This the moment想說的不是夢想追求的熱情,而是「信心」。

「信心」未必會帶來好事,功成名就、財富權勢,許多時候「信心」會帶來更多的苦難,像耶穌為了信而受盡折磨而死,在Gethsemane禱告時,說了:「我的父親哪，你凡事都能。求你把這苦杯移去；可是，不要照我的意思，只要照你的旨意。」最後,耶穌仍選擇相信,為愛世人,以無罪之身的血覆蓋人的原罪。

人必要活在「信心」之中,即使「信心」因而帶來磨難,但只要基於愛人的心,所為之事,這樣的十字架應當去擔負。

親愛的天父,我明白了,也準備好了。
