人物：希律王，臣僕，文士 時間：白天 地點：希律王殿中 （幕起，希律王和臣僕，文士在宮内） 希律王：我聽説最近東方來了三個博士，你知道這件事嗎？ 臣：嗯。。嗯。。。 希律王： 你嗯呀嗯的，到底你是知道還是不知道？ 臣：嗯，是，大人，臣知道。 希律王：他們會千里迢迢從東方來，肯定是來膜拜我的，六年前，我蓋完該撒利亞的宮殿時，幾個東方使節也組了個駱駝隊，帶著好幾車禮物來拜訪我，這幾個博士這次不曉得會帶什麽寶貝給我。趕快叫他們來求見。 臣：是，嗯，臣已經打聽過了，也問過他們了，但是他們說沒辦法來。 希律王：什麽？ 沒辦法來？ 臣：是，他們說他們在東方看見奇特的星宿，所以特別趕來耶路撒冷朝拜。 希律王：什麽？什麽奇特的星宿？ 臣：臣也不很清楚，他們說 “那生下來做猶太人之王的在那裏？我們在東方看見他的星，所以特來拜他“ 希律王：（拍桌大怒）什麽？他們這些外國人怎麽會知道誰是猶太人的王？誰比我更有資格當猶太人的王？(轉向臣) 你說說，這是怎麽回事？ 臣：好像以前有人說什麽預言什麽的。。。 希律王：預言？ 你倒提醒我了， 你是説以前有預言說大衛的子孫會再當王，就是。。就是彌賽亞？那不是叫基督嗎？ (轉向文士)，你懂星占卜，你説，那預言怎麽説的？基督當生在何處？ 文士：大王，根據記載，基督生在猶太的伯利恆，因爲先知曾説：猶大地的伯利恆啊，你在猶大諸城中，并不是最小的，因爲將來有一位君王要從那裏出來，牧養我以色列民。 希律王：（拍桌大怒）什麽？伯利恆？ 伯利恆不就在我們附近嗎？來人呀，快去把那幾個博士找來，我得好好弄清楚這是怎麽回事！！ 臣：是，大人，臣這就去找那三個東方人來 希律王：哼，氣死我了，氣死我了。（憤怒，大步下臺，臣僕尾隨而下） （幕下） 第四幕
