About the Book The author loves ardently the literature and writing from his childhood. Since his first work was published 1960, he insists “mainly depicting native land, idyllic life and nature, singing the praise of the brilliant side of human experience, based on humanity to encourage people to brace themselves up and be bent on doing good deeds”. He deems just in this way, the writing is in fact meaningful and valuable; otherwise, it’s no necessary to waste the pen and ink to write, we can broken the pen and cast it away. The author holds tightly this idea in writing, the most of these 77 poems enclosed in this book are the works written as thus. The intelligent readers can read surely from the book: the poems of the native land, idyllic life, humanity and great nature as well as the singing to praise of the brilliant side of human experience and the encouragement. Unlike some of the modern writers, write with the obscure word, let the readers can’t touch what he writes, take much effort to read, to guess and estimate. He is a writer writing in bright and clear, writes one as one, writes two as two, don’t play the trick of the word; so the readers need not to be afraid of can’t understand what he writes. The readers can read with leisurely, pass through the clear and bright writing, know the meanings of the poems, appreciate the beauty of the poetic sense, enjoy the sweet life. Originally, read the poems is an enjoyment, why we ought to read hardly and guess hardly? Is it not a torture? Let’s to the native land, countryside and great nature to take a pilgrimage to a holy place with the author, let’s go forward to the brilliant side of human experience, brace up ourselves and bend on doing good deeds with the author! About the author Hsu Chicheng,a distinguished contemporary Taiwanese poet, writer and translator, Native of Pingtung County, Taiwan; born in 1939; LLB of Soochow University.
