Banana Cake with Chocolate Frosting
Sometimes a good recipe, even when it is not necessarily
an exceptional one, can become something special when it connects
to a memory.
Once this happens it may even move forward to be added into a
new family cookbook to make more future memories.
This recipe was not one of my mother’s. I first had this cake
sometime after I had finished college and was visiting an old
friend from childhood who had recently married.
The recipe was one his wife knew well and after enjoying a nice
dinner we made this cake and frosting together for dessert.
Over the years since, I have lost touch with my friend, but anytime
I have a couple of overripe bananas, this recipe with its memories
comes to mind as something easy and delicious that I can easily make.
