送別余楊二將軍:

 一兵工廠的二位廠長

I． 送余將軍

是誰要遠行？

是他們的所愛所敬。

全廠的人都出來了，

塞滿了他的離程。

爆竹聲震耳欲聾。

巴掌拍的麻又痛。

離情朦朧了眼睛，

傷感刺痛了心胸。

多年來他們共同工作，

共同生活，相輔相成。

現在是他屆齡退職。

怎麼可以分隔西東？

青天永久高爽廣闊，

白日依舊輝煌升騰。

讓我們共同誠懇祝福，

他的前景永遠大光明。

II．送楊將軍

是誰要遠行？

是他們的所愛所敬。

全廠的人都出來了，

塞滿了部份山城。

罷工抗議震驚了全國。

集會遊行癱瘓了半城。

忿怒燒紅了每對眼睛，

悲傷刺痛了各個心胸。

世代來他們一起生活，

一起工作，互助共榮。

忽然間他奉令調職。

怎麼可以割分西東！

青天永是高爽廣闊，

白日正當輝煌升騰。

讓我們一起虔誠祈禱，

他的前程更遠大光明。

因為抗戰及內戰，

此一兵工廠搬遷三次

而一分為三。

一次是由南京遷重慶，

一次是由重慶返南京，

一次是由南京遷高雄。

內子是在南京廠內出生，

隨去重慶，隨回南京，

最後再隨到高雄。

楊善至將軍是她在重慶的表弟。

余定華將軍是我在高雄的主官。

楊善至將軍的調職，

在中國大陸曾引起了空前的震驚。

袍澤們因為捨不得他離開，

一連多日罷工抗議集會遊行，

整個的癱瘓了廠區附近的一片山城。

自中共建政以來從未發生此類舉動。

此詩只是著眼於詩情與詩藝，

毫無阿諛之意。

余將軍早已在美國離世，

楊將軍也已從大學副校長任內離休。

Farewells to General Yu and Yang:

         An Arsenal’s Commanders

             To Gen. Yu

Who is leaving long?

A man they respect and love.

The whole campus turns out.

His whole route is crammed up.

Firecrackers deafen their ears.

Handclaps deaden their palms.

But tears are hazing their eyes.

Sadness is aching their hearts. 

For many years they work together,

live together and help each other.

Finally he is scheduled to retire.

How can they lose one another?

Red sun is still rising and shining.

Blue sky is ever high and wide.

Let us all sincerely pray and wish：

His future will be forever bright.

Who must leave long?

A man they respect and love.

Part of the city is crammed up.

Strikes and protests shock the country.

Rallies and parades paralyze the area.

Furies are blooding all their eyes.

Sorrows are bleeding their hearts.

For generations they live together,

work together and help each other.

Suddenly he is ordered to transfer.

How can they be separated apart!

Red sun now is rising and shining.

Blue sky is ever high and wide.

Let us all sincerely pray and wish：

His future will be more bright.

Because of the Japanese and civil war,

this arsenal was moved three times,

therefore divided into three.

Once it was from Nanjing to Chongqing.

Once it was from Chongqing to Nanjing.

Once it was from Nanjing to Kaohsiung.

My wife was born at its campus in Nanjing,

moved to Chongqing, then returned to Nanjing,

finally moved once more to Kaohsiung.

General Yang Shanzhi was her cousin at Chongqing.

General Yu Tinghwa was my commander at Kaohsiung.

The event of General Yang's transferring to a new post,

has caused an unprecedented shock in mainland China.

Because his comrades could not bear to let him go,

they organized strikes, protests, rallies and parades,

for many days, they totally paralyzed the activities

of the city around the arsenal’s campus region.

Since the communist regime was established,

there was no such an event has ever happened.
