Ave Maria!
Ave Maria!
Sweet Echo, sweetest Nymph that livst unseen Within thy airy shell By slow Meander's margent green, And in the violet imbroider'd vale Where the love-lorn Nightingale Nightly to thee her sad Song mourneth well. Canst thou not tell me of a gentle Pair That likest thy Narcissus are? O if thou have Hid them in som flowry Cave, Tell me but where Sweet Queen of Parly, Daughter of the Sphear, So maist thou be translated to the skies, And give resounding grace to all Heavns Harmonies
Sabrina fair Listen where thou art sitting Under the glassie, cool, translucent wave, In twisted braids of Lillies knitting The loose train of thy amber-dropping hair, Listen for dear honour's sake, Goddess of the silver lake, Listen and save.
Listen and appear to us In name of great Oceanus, By the earth-shaking Neptune's mace, And Tethys grave majestick pace, By hoary Nereus wrincled look, And the Carpathian wisards hook, By scaly Tritons winding shell, And old sooth-saying Glaucus spell, By Leucothea's lovely hands, And her son that rules the strands, By Thetis tinsel-slipper'd feet, And the Songs of Sirens sweet, By dead Parthenope's dear tomb, And fair Ligea's golden comb, Wherwith she sits on diamond rocks Sleeking her soft alluring locks, By all the Nymphs that nightly dance Upon thy streams with wily glance, Rise, rise, and heave thy rosie head From thy coral-pav'n bed, And bridle in thy headlong wave, Till thou our summons answered have. Listen(=silent) and save.
~John Milton
Eldorado
Gaily bedight, A gallant knight, In sunshine and in shadow, Had journeyed long, Singing a song, In search of El Dorado.
But he grew old- This knight so bold- And o'er his heart a shadow Fell as he found No spot of ground That looked like El Dorado.
And, as his strength Failed him at length, He met a pilgrim shadow- "Shadow," said he, "Where can it be- This land of El Dorado?"
"Over the Mountains Of the Moon, Down the Valley of the Shadow, Ride, boldly ride," The shade replied- "If you seek for El Dorado!"
~Edgar Allan Poe
Ample make this bed.
Ample Make this bed. Make this bed with awe; In it wait till judgment break Excellent and fair.
Be its mattress straight, Be its pillow round; Let no sunrise' yellow noise Interrupt this ground.
~Emily Dickinson
Perhaps one of the wisest things Ralph Waldo Emerson ever said:
"Many times the reading of a book has made the fortune of a man -- has decided his way in life.
"To use books rightly is to go to them for help; to appeal to them when our knowledge and power fail; to be led by them into wider sight and clear conception of our own."
“No man can learn what he has not preparation for learning, however near to his eyes is the object. A chemist may tell his most precious secrets to a carpenter, and he shall be never the wiser -- the secrets he would not utter to a chemist for an estate.”
As the Sun was placed in the sky greeting her planets, the day that brought you into this world, you began to grow and thrive according to the laws which caused your life to start. That way you must be; you cannot escape yourself. Sybils and Prophets revealed this long ago. And no time and no power is able to destroy such engraved form which develops while living.

And yet, they are right, those whom I try to correct: That a word does not always mean just one thing, Should be understood by anyone who reads.
The word is like a fan! Between the rows (spokes). A pair of beautiful eyes look forth. The fan represents only a lovely mist; It really does cover the face: But, the girl (or Tale), it does not hide, Since the most gorgeous, what she possesses, The eye is that which sparkle into my own.
~J.W. Goethe
"The wise man can dominate the stars, and is not subject to them. Nay, the stars are subject to the wise man, and are forced to obey him, not he the stars. The stars compel and coerce the animal man, so that where they lead he must follow, just as a thief does the gallows, a robber the wheel, a fisher the fishes, a fowler the birds, and a hunter the wild beasts."

In that part of the book of my memory before which little can be read, there is a heading, which says: ‘Incipit vita nova: From here begins the new life’. Under that heading I find written the words that it is my intention to copy into this little book: and if not all, at least their essence.
Nine times already since my birth the heaven of light had almostrevolved to the self-same point when my mind’s glorious lady first appeared to my eyes, she who was called by many, BEATRICE (‘she who confers blessing’), by those who did not know what it meant to so name her. She had already lived as long in this life as in her time the starry heaven had moved east the twelfth part of one degree, so that she appeared to me almost at the start of her ninth year, and I saw her almost at the end of my ninth. She appeared dressed in noblest colour, restrained and pure, in crimson RED, tied and adorned in the style that then suited her very tender age.

“O how dull of perception are those who believe there is nothing regular, ordered and distinct, except what is acknowledged by the judgment of the eyes!”
“If only they evolve (and thus translate) visible phenomena to their causes, they will surely find nothing unarranged, nothing wandering, in the chance of conflux, and without laws.”
~Emanuel Swedenborg
“This is the inscription that was written:mene, mene, tekel, parsin
“Here is what these words mean:
Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end. Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom. That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians was slain at the age of sixty-two ...62 and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom .
