閔予小子 - 周頌21.詩經286
閔予小子，遭家不造，嬛嬛在疚。 於乎皇考，永世克孝。
念茲皇祖，陟降庭止。
維予小子，夙夜敬止，
於乎皇王，繼序思不忘。
憐憫我因我尚年青，如今遭受喪父悲痛， 沮喪孤獨心憂如焚。
感恩先王偉大奇功，終身行孝榮耀祖宗。
懷念祖先偉大光榮，事天愛民舉才去佞。
我雖年幼登上王位，日夜敬職努力不懈。
偉大先王墳前發奮，承襲祖訓不忘初衷。
Have mercy upon me cause I am just too young, Mourning the death of my beloved father the former king,
Being disconsolate, melancholy, and lonesome.
In appreciation of my father’s great achievement,
I’ll promote filial piety to honor my ancestors everlasting.
In memory of my forefather’s brilliant glory,
I’ll worship God, love people, elect the capable, and remove bootlickers.
Though crowned when I was young,
I’ll work deligently and respect the throne.
In fornt of my father’s tomb I promise to become strong,
Inherit my ancestor’s teachings and forget not the mission.

【註】〈閔予小子〉是〈詩經.周頌〉的第21首，其序文是「嗣王朝於廟也。」《毛詩正義》解釋說：：「《閔予小子》詩者，嗣王朝於廟之樂歌也。謂成王嗣父為王，朝於宗廟，自言當嗣之意。詩人述其事而作此詩歌焉。…賴周公代為家事，得致太平。今將自為政，故追述其父。於乎可歎美者，我之君考，謂武王也。此武王之道，長可後世法之，能為孝行。常能念此君祖文王，上事天，下治民，以正直之道而行止。」 |
