I love the job of translating Chinese into English, or vice versa. Before I retired from working, I had been moonlighting as a subtitle/dubbing translator in a TV station continually for ten years.
Well, the long-standing axiom for translation is "fidelity, intelligibility, and elegance", which should be a tough task for a translator to fulfill all the requirements. Sometimes the requirements may differ according to various situations, but in translating the terms with highly political implications, aside "fidelity", we should give them more precise definition.
