義大利創作才子〔RAF〕與美國實力歌姬〔蘿拉布蘭妮根〕的交集──義大利冠軍──〔Self Control／自我控制〕原版

１９８４　美國歌姬蘿拉布蘭妮根（Laura Branigan）以〔Self Control〕達到事業最高峰

不過此曲其實是翻唱自義大利歌手RAF的作品　而且兩者幾乎同時推出　同時走紅

RAF１９５９年出生　原名Raffaele Riefoli

１９８４年出道　推出第一張同名大碟〔Raf〕

首支主打即是他跟別人合寫的英文歌曲〔Self Control〕

此曲結合流行　搖滾　New Wave以及簡節明快的電子舞曲節拍

立刻在市場走紅　拿上義大利榜９週冠軍

就在這時　蘿拉布蘭妮根推出第三張專輯　亦翻唱了〔Self Control〕（大碟甚至以此為名）

當時她已是頗有名氣的歌手　這個版本立刻紅遍全球各地　登上十幾個國家的冠軍

連帶讓尚屬新人的Raf版本沾光　在歐洲暢銷

除義大利外　也拿到瑞士冠軍（當時他打下蘿拉　隔週又被後者擠下王座）　奧地利＃７　法國Top４０

在德國　他跟蘿拉版還同時分居亞軍跟冠軍

兩人魚幫水　水幫魚

共同成為１９８４年夏天歐洲最紅的歌曲

RAF也一炮而紅 在義大利走紅到現在

RAF跟蘿拉的版本其實相當接近

歌名歌詞完全沒變動

差別就在後者的編曲較為華麗流行　並強調蘿拉的花腔

RAF版則較簡潔有力

在聽慣蘿拉的版本後  RAF版會給人耳目一新的感受

老實說　個人覺得不會比蘿拉版差

聽過Branigan〔Self Control〕的不妨聽聽RAF版
