由Paul Overstreet＋Don Schlitz譜寫

被製作一首鄉村抒情曲, 旋律優美動人

［When You Say Nothing at All］再度登上鄉村榜王座, 開始惠特利連續五首單曲奪冠的輝煌紀錄

另也取得加拿大鄉村榜冠軍

日後許多藝人重新演繹此曲, 較著名的版本是１９９５年美國鄉村歌手愛麗森克勞絲（Alison Krauss）與愛爾蘭流行歌手羅南（Ronan Keating）登上英國單曲榜冠軍的版本

由於單曲表現良好, ［Dont Close Your Eyes］登上Billboard鄉村專輯榜＃８　也是他首度打入主流市場──Billboard專輯榜的大碟（＃１２１）　銷售逾５０萬張, 取得金唱片, 奠定其紅星地位
