這是Captain Wayne的船, Tayana 37 Hull#535 "Soul Survivor of San Francisco"

Tayana 37是隻大有來頭的船, Blue Water Sailing曾有調查, "There are more Tayana 37s cruising offshore than any other design worldwide".

據我的觀察, 這說法應算客觀.

大洋Tayana位於高雄, 也是台灣帆船廠自有品牌行銷世界的代表,37是大洋起家的代表作, 自1973年來大約造了六百條, 大部分都是1990年之前造的, 近年大洋已將重心轉向大船, 37產量極少.

Tayana 37 也是Bob Perry的起家之作, 可與他的Valiant40並列他早期的代表作, Bob再Tayana 37 之後又設計了一系列的Double-ender with modified full keel, 大部分是大新船廠製造的OEM, 包括Baba30 40, Flying Dutchman 35, Tashiba 36 40, Panda 40. 算是Tayana37的copycat with modifications. 在Bob Perry的書裡有很多紀錄.

Cruising Boat 的要求與Racing Boat或Daysailer有很大的不同:
一 Cruising 一般來說 lack of crew;
二 Crusing boat loaded with heavy equipment and provisioning;
三 Easier motion in the sea is more important than speed.
四 Built heavy to encounter any possible bad weather on long voyage

Full Keel Cruising Boat 有其優缺點, 另文討論.

Tayana37的keel前半較一般Traditional Full Keel有很大的Cut-off, 藉以改善逆風的性能.
