to be the ruling party, then its decision makers need to be resourceful enough not to get slammed by the opposition party at this moment of global economic crisis. Ma-Liu should seriously consider whether a lot of economic indicators need to be “massaged” in order to suit the situation right now. That's exactly what Bush regime did since 2001. From what I know, I am very sure that the global economic meltdown will continue and deepens. Everything will be getting very difficult to handle and every picture will be getting very, very ugly. This would absolutely give the opposition party a very good chance to attack the ruling party. In order to reap the political interests, DPP will take advantage of this golden opportunities to mobilize the extremely disgruntled and ignorant people island-wide to attack KMT for its incompetence and mismanagement. But the point is DPP, consisting of a group of thugs, crooks, thieves, looters, liars and eunuches, is an extremely incompetent, near-sighted, stupid, corrupt, ignorant and self-serving opposition party. People in Taiwan had seen enough what they did in the past 8 years. This trashy opposition party does not deserve to be the ruling party again whatsoever, therefore, KMT should do what it takes to keep itself in power and should be smart enough not to get screwed by the global economic downturn. Massaging the stats definitely should not be allowed under normal circumstance. But considering the extremely tough situation every country and every government is facing right now, Ma-Liu should be flexible and resourceful enough to figure out what actions need to be taken to avoid becoming a silly sitting duck. Other than that, the executive branch should consider organizing a “plunge protection team” or a similar organization to handle any emergency that may happen any time. The members in that team must be very smart, very quick-witted and very knowledgeable. Led by the United States, the world will be getting uglier and uglier. A lot of people may not know that almost everything in the United States is deteriorating faster than what the media reported. The situations are getting tougher and tougher and will be going from bad to worse. I deeply believe that there will be extremely hard time ahead for both the U.S. government and the American people. Only brain-dead people would believe Obama is capable of fixing this and that. When the most dominant country on earth is in massive trouble, there is not much Taiwan can do to make things better. Sure KMT should be condemned for not being able to get this done and get that done. But can DPP do a better job at this extremely difficult time? Traded at almost all time high, the price of gold is skyrocketing. Why? There must be reasons why the price of gold continues to rise. Basically, gold is not only a commodity, but also a political metal. Gold has political ramifications and has always been intertwined with politics. When everything is in good shape, the price of gold tends to be down. When the price of gold rises when there seems to be no war imminent or other international disaster, people start looking for a reason. The main reasons why the price of gold has been surging dramatically are that the governments from all over the world are massively inflating in order to save the economy and that people from all over the world have lost their confidence in paper asset, in horrible economy and in their governments. Gold clearly serves as the barometer of public confidence, as inflation indicator and as the best insurance against future shocks. If we see the skyrocketing gold price, then we should know everything obviously is not in good shape. I always believe that honesty is the best policy. But obviously if KMT is too honest right now, it might get hurt easily, badly and unnecessarily. The crisis Taiwan is facing right now is unpresedented since 1949. As the ruling party, KMT certainly has the responsibilities to do what it could to put everything back on track. But before getting that job done, the ruling party would absolutely have hard time to overcome a lot of barriers ahead. During this period, KMT needs to be smart and resourceful enough to know how to protect itself to avoid getting screwed by this global financial meltdown. Would it be difficult for Ma-Liu administration to figure out how to do it?
