1)the
argument of whether Taiwan is an independent country or whether this
island's sovereignty belongs to anybody else is not a new issue. It
has been discussed and debated in many research papers, seminars and
meetings over and over and over again. The point is even if you win
the argument, or reach a conclusion and so what? There is nothing
you can do about it, because this issue has nothing to do with
justice, treaty or international law. It's about international
politics, therefore, it will be solved and settled
politically(hopefully).

What's
really important right now is that if more and more flippant opinion
and talk like that continue to grow and brew, I am afraid it might
trigger backlash, endangering the interests of the vast majority of
the people living on this island. Under the worst case scenario, I
would like to know what Taiwan can do, if China takes quick and
drastic actions to thoroughly solve this issue? Taiwanese people,
regardless of what political party you root for, should ask yourself
a question: if you were the leaders in Beijing, with 1,300,000,000
people standing behind you, would you tolerate the provocative
remarks like that? I think if DPP's thugs were the leaders of
China, they would have issued warnings, threatening to blast Taiwan
into “thousand islands”.

A
superpower in the making, China will absolutely do what it takes to
show you that Taiwan is a part of China and taking this island back
is its unfinished business. What Taiwanese should do at the moment
of global economic meltdown is do what you can do to protect yourself
to save your own ass, not exasperate your extremely powerful
neighbor. Talk is cheap. As a featherweight boxer, Taiwan can't
talk like a heavyweight champion, not to speak of picking up a fight
against the giant.

Sure
in a democratic society the freedom of speech should be respected and
protected.
But repeatedly expressing useless, provocative
and totally
 meaningless opinion is dangerous,
stupid and irresponsible.
It does not help change or upgrade Taiwan's status quo at all.
I wonder why there are still piece-of-shit-like scholars in Taiwan
who know nothing about international politics. Do they know the
only thing that counts in international politics is power, not
justice?

Perhaps
from a lot of Taiwanese viewpoints, Taiwan undoubtedly is a
sovereign state. I don't argue with you about this. But from
all Chinese perspective, Taiwan absolutely is an alienable part of
China, historically/culturally/geographically speaking.
The
reality is one is much, much bigger, stronger and more powerful than
the other one and the bigger one has claimed millions times that the
smaller one is

a
renegade
province

that must be united with the mainland. Considering China's overall
strength continuing to rise dramatically, any rational and reasonable
Taiwanese should know what he needs to do.

2)what
the United States would do,
if,
just if

China takes military actions to seize Taiwan?

The
answer to that question is nothing. I say nothing. It means
nothing. Other than verbally condemn Beijing for what it did, the
U.S. will not pick up a fight against an opponent they cannot win.

Keep in mind that China, not the U.S,
 enjoys
a huge, huge "home court advantages" over any other
adversaries on Taiwan Strait.

Not a group of idiots, the U.S. decision makers fully understand
that PLA could bury the U.S. ships and troops alive in many, many
ways. A war against China, in my opinion, could create the most
tragic tragedy for the U.S. ever has since World War Two. If you
were the President of the United States, facing massive economic
downturn and two wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan at this moment,
would you want to challenge a monster who absolutely is capable of
destroying you in many ways?

More
and more ships and troops deployed in the west Pacific ocean is a
sign revealing that the U.S. is so scared to face China. It also
is a strategy called bluffing. A poker player bluffs, throwing all
his bets in the pot in order to scare his opponent away and win.
This is exactly what Americans are doing right now. They basically
don't want to fight. They just want to let China guess what they
would/might do with so many powerful ships and troops not very far
from your home, if you take actions to attack Taiwan. Americans
enjoy playing poker, so they know when to bluff, when to call, when
to hold and when to fold. If you truly realize what Americans
really are, you should understand what I am talking about. In my
opinion,
if,just if China calls(attacks), the
U.S. will fold and Taiwan will fall into the hands of China.

3) Now it is just an issue of when, not whether or not Taiwan will
be repossessed by China. Continuing to talk to them to hammer out
some mutually beneficial deals is the right direction. Venting
your anger or expressing provocative opinion is not heroic behavior
but foolish conduct which might result in unpredictable consequences.
Like it or not, this is a reality all the people in Taiwan must
face and accept.
Let's get real.
