Hamburg is really a beautiful city.

On Sunday early morning, I took a train from my hotel to Hamburg railway central station. It is the main railway station in Hamburg, built in 1902. The first railway line opened in 1842. It's the busiest station in Germany, the second busiest in Europe following the Gare du Nord in Paris. It was seriously damaged by Allied bombing during WW II in 1941. Now it is operated by DB Station & Service. It's a historic district in Hamburg. There're lots of fantastic historic buildings around this station.

I took a slowly walk on Monckeberg St. in the early morning, and also visited and had a pray in St. Jacobi church, which was built in 13th century, under wonderful an...gel singing. Then I enjoyed my breakfast in Starbucks store, which is a historic building with a hundred year, while all the churches were ringing the bell for 10 minutes. It's really a fantastic experience !

The Mönckebergstraße is one of the main shopping streets in Hamburg, Germany. It is named after Johann Georg Mönckeberg, mayor of Hamburg in the 1890s and 1900s. There're lots of historic brick-style buildings down the street.

I sitted inside the church for a pray and enjoyed a peace during wonderful angels' singing. It's really a special and beautiful experience, especially in a 13th century church.

St. Jaobi Church built in 1255 is a Lutheran church. From 1806 to 1813, it was occupied by Napoleonic troops, used mainly as stables. It was even damaged during WW II bombing. The ceiling murals, with their civic virtues, show the importance of maintaining parish to the city regiment.

St. Peter's Church was built starting 1189. In about 1310, the cathedral was rebuilt in a Gothic style and was completed in approximately 1418. The bronze lion-head door handles, the oldest work of art of Hamburg, date from the foundation of the tower in 1342.

In the end of the street is the City Hall. It was re-built in 1886, after the old one was destroyed in the great fire of 1842. There're 647 rooms inside. The balcony is surmounted the city's Latin motto " Libertatem quam peperere maiores digne studeat servare posteritas " (English: May posterity strive to preserve the freedom won by our elders) and the city's coat of arms. The courtyard is decorated with a Hygieia fountain. It is just located along the beautiful Elbe River in Hamburg.

I met a tour group from Taiwan in front of the City Hall !
