11. 故我欲戰，敵雖高壘深溝，不得不與我戰者，攻其所必救也。

所以如果我方決定要出戰， 而敵人的城牆築的又高、壕溝挖的又深，為了逼使敵人不得不出城應戰，就得攻打對方非救不可的陣地。

Hence if we decide to fight, to coerce the enemy out from their city that is circled by a high wall and a deep trench, what we can do is to attack enemy’s key fortress that they have to rescue.


12. 我不欲戰，雖畫地而守之，敵不得與我戰者，乖其所之也。

如果我方不想出戰，即使未及設防只在營地外畫了防守線，為了讓對方不敢應戰，就必須拋出詭計奇招使敵人懼怕不敢出來交戰。

If we decide not to fight, even our troop is not ready but merely tracing defense lines outside the garrisons, what we can do is to throw some tricky tactics to scare the enemy of fighting out.
