在Cheesecake Factory的戶外餐桌上﹐滿臉笑容的女兒和男友﹐圍繞在一群她從小到大的好朋友中間﹐開心地述說著她們“求婚”的過程﹐不時傳來年輕人的哈哈大笑聲....
才知道原來女兒早想嫁人了.....
回想自己生她時不也才25歲出頭﹐成了年輕又沒經驗的媽媽﹐也是像她這樣的花樣年華。
畢業後因為男友先赴美讀書。 我則因考慮到家裡的環境不許可﹐不敢有出國打算。 每次看到他寄來的信就淚眼婆娑﹐不知這段感情會往那去﹖
有一天﹐收到了信﹐我又躲在房間哭泣...突然媽媽開門進來, 坐在我床邊輕聲地對我說﹐如果妳真的想出國就去吧! 老在這哭也不是辦法..... 就這樣把我默許給他了。 出國前的結匯, 把領公教薪水的爸媽的所有積蓄都提走了! (那時台幣美金還是四十比一) 就這樣我帶著爸媽的祝福來美逐夢了。 把爸媽和弟弟們都丟在後頭。
一直覺得媽是個很勇敢又堅強的女子. 直到前年回台和她去買水果時, 才聽到媽說, 我剛去美國時, 美國蘋果正剛進口台灣﹐她每次看到蘋果就想到我﹐就不禁會掉眼淚... 唉~ 年輕的我怎知, 我是拿媽媽的眼淚來換我的眼淚呢?
第二年暑假因有機會我們臨時決定回台結婚. 在婚宴裡我真是很開心地笑著, 媽傾過身來小聲說: "新娘子, 走路細步一點, 不要笑得嘴巴張太大... " 好像我樂得把自己嫁了似的, 太不含蓄了~
"媽~ 來照相~ " 女兒叫到, 看她臉上快樂的模樣,一手挽著那將來的另一半, 另一手挽著她老爸, 趕快靠近去照相.
孩子, 爸媽祝福妳!

With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.

Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
