這首 The Last Waltz 是英國歌手 Engelbert Humperdinck 繼“Release Me”之後的又一首暢銷歌曲， 作曲、作詞者是英國人 Barry Mason 和 Les Reed ， 這首歌在英國以及澳大利亞、紐西蘭、愛爾蘭、南非 廣受歡迎，榮登排行榜的后座， 在美國暢銷歌曲的排行榜也上升至25位。
Engelbert Humperdinck 本名叫 Arnold George Dorsey， 1936年生在印度，十歲時才隨著雙親回到英國。 雖然自幼喜歡音樂，但是他的歌唱生涯並不順利。 29歲時在好友的建議下改了名字， 說也奇怪，歌唱生涯真的有了突破。 1967年先以 “Release Me”一曲登上后座， 緊接著又灌唱了這首"The Last Waltz" 以及"There Goes My Everything"。 此後開始走紅，甚至有自己的電視節目， 他的音樂會一直有歌迷捧場，一直到2010年代都如此。 在2019年還在新加坡、馬尼拉和東京開過演唱會。
