My dear children, 
I am sorry to tell you the bad news.
"ET" went home peacefully.
He had been with our family for 16 year since Marco brought him from
his friend. Ever since then ET had been a member of our family and brought
us joy happiness and some time with worry about where he was.  
My daughter had tried to locate him 2 times in our Glendale home
when ET was missing.
I saved him from blackberry trap in front of our creek when he was
missing for 3 nights.
Mari liked him very much and slept with him for many winters. Since
2001, he got trouble with his digestive system which caused him suffering
of constipation. To help with his diet we had to feed him medicine 3 times
daily in order to help him urinate and pupu. Last month, his system just
gave away and 1 week without pupu coming out,  We sent him to Dr. Ritter's
office and stay in animal hospital for two days. After he came back and
situation still did not improve. We both know that
ET's day had come and he wanted to go his permanent home.
Mari was feeling sad and cried a little bit.
What had to do was what had to do. What we wanted was reducing ET's
suffering. Dr. Ritter said he would not make ET suffer. He put him to
sleep with one injection. Within 10 seconds, ET's spirit went home did not
show any sign of pain and suffering. His eyes were wide open and heart
stopped beating, and Dr. announced he was gone. I guess Mari must have
cried lots. After that Mari brought ET's body home I could not help
having tear in my eyes.
We managed to dig a hole and made our back yard as his grave where
he used to enjoy seating and playing. Mari did not forget to put a can
of his favorite cat food buried together. Later Mari placed a cup of water
in front of his grave and murmured "ET come home to drink your water."
Attached is ET's grave and I think both of you would not forget ET.
May peace and happiness with him when ET gone Home.

P.S. I feel that both ET and hunter had basic instinct.
       Before ET gone home, he showed unusual affection to Mari
       and grabed her arm and "Meao..... softly like saying
       ET......go..............home.....ET.....go.......home....."
       when I touched his forehead & his same gesture ET... Go...Home...
       Even Hunter showed special affection by licking ET's head
       for about 5 minutes. Did Hunter know some thing we did not
       know or she possess animal instinct knew some thing is going
       to happen? I have no answer for that and that was my observation.
