In my "impression", any performance titled "印象" is orchestrated by Mr. Zhang Yimou.  But I am not sure the 印象麗江 is one of his works.  The show was performed on a huge, outdoor stage with grand settings located beneath that mystical Snow Mountain of Jade Dragon as a faraway backdrop, telling the brave and romantic stories of native Naxi people.  Unfortunately, it was a rainy, chilly, and misty day, so I was also shrouled in a suit of raincoat provided by the theater, quivering.  Worse enough, the runs inflicted me badly, so I had to leave my seat several times during the show.  Therefore, I had little "印象" about the show.  I do hope you guys will have been luckier next time when you go to the show.

Unlike 印象麗江, 雲南映象 is the show performed in a theater at city of Kunming.  Including the prologue and the epilogue, the show comprises six acts all pertaining to the origin, the custom, and the cult of different local natives, trying to signify the cultural and biographical diversity of an islolated, mountainous Yunnan.  The show is orchestrated by that legendary Yang Liping, the Peacock Dancer.  The epilogue was also a set of peacock dancing, performed by one of Yangs pupils.  But I think the dancer didnt achieve the level of the incredibly sinuous gracefulness that her teacher Yang had done before, well, not even close. 

P.S.  Before the show 雲南映象 started, the theater made an announcement twice that any photographing, videotaping, and recording are not allowed during the show, but regretfully to little avail.  My dear Mainlanders, behave yourselves, especially when there were a lot of foreign audience in there.  Believe me, national quality is even more important than national wealth.
