Throughout last weekend, you were probably inundated with the news of the earthquake and tsunami that devastating Japan. Some commentators expressed their admiration towards Japaneses’ collective and efficient reaction. The people of Japan are dealing with such a domestic disaster collectively, alright; they are dealing with foreign affairs collectively, either, and being brutally just like a pack of ferocious wolves, totally unhuman. For us, Japan never quitted the dream of annexing Taiwan again. How to make Japan a quiet neighbor? The only answer is China should always keep her strong, much stronger than Japan. A student of Keelung High School said something in the internet, which was opposed to the mainstream pointviews, like it was a comeuppance on Japan or something, and was savaged by the vast netizens. It’s ok for free speech, both by the student and the netizens. But how come the school severely punished him with discipline reason? Maybe I am a little bit paranoid, but I reckon if the student were to say the same on 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, Mainland china, he wouldn’t have been disciplined. Speaking of the Wenchuan catastrophe, which claimed over 100 thousand lives, its epicenter was located at somewhere amongst mountains and adjacent to densely-populated area, unlike this time the one in Japan, which located at the bottom of sea 130 km away from the land. Can you remember how China reacted to the disaster with imposing efficiency, and imagine how fast the ruined city was rebuilt? Japan is not the only one we should learn something from. P.S. I just read a piece of news reporting a DPP legislator made a March, 2011 |
