Yesterday I saw a piece of breaking news under the title "台女嫁外籍 reached a record high in 2014" on Yahoo . I hated to see the term like 台女, 台裔, etc., but the title interested me, so I clicked in to see what it was all about. According to the statistics from Ministry of Internal Affairs, the report said, in 2014 Taiwanese women involved in "international" marriage reached a record high, and the number one "foreigners" the women wedded to were those men from Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau combined. What the hell! Are those bridegrooms "foreigners", and should their nuptial union with women of Taiwan be categorized as "international marriage"? Such a description is an absolutely blatant expression in favor of that notorious "Two Nations Theory". More surprisingly, it is the report from China Times, the last media in Taiwan that shows a tendency to embrace the idea of reunion. I hope this is an unintentional mistake, but I suggest that lady reporter be duly reprimanded. If I were the reporter, I would have given a title like this: "本地女嫁境外郎..."
