Ye Jiaying, a scholar of classical literature and chair professor of Nankai University, passed away on November 24, 2024, at 100. Being a lover of Chinese classical poetry myself, I feel sorry for not having an opportunity to listen to her teaching while she was in Taiwan, but I feel happy for her longevity, particularly through the years of misfortune in this world.
