偽臨朝武氏者，性非和順，地實寒微。昔充太宗下陳，曾以更衣入侍。洎乎晚節，穢亂春宮。潛隱先帝之私，陰圖后庭之嬖。              

That usurper Wu is never a gentle and benign woman in kind, and she is also born to a low and wretched family.  Formerly, she was a concubine to Emperor Tai, but she parlayed her opportunity as a gown-changer for the emperor into being patronized.  Later, that lascivious Wu broke the taboo and had an affair with the prince, then lied about her previous relationship with Emperor Tai in order to gain supremacy among concubines.

入門見嫉，蛾眉不肯讓人；掩袖工讒，狐媚偏能惑主。踐元后于翚翟，陷吾君于聚麀。加以虺蜴為心，豺狼成性，近狎邪僻，殘害忠良，殺姊屠兄，弒君鴆母。人神之所同嫉，天地之所不容。猶復包藏禍心，窺竊神器。君之愛子，幽之于別宮；賊之宗盟，委之以重任。嗚呼！霍子孟之不作，朱虛侯之已亡。燕啄皇孫，知漢祚之將盡；龍漦帝后，識夏庭之遽衰。

She envied other concubines, being jealous of all of them.  But she is so vain that she made Emperor Gao her love captive and made her queen.Thus, she also gave our Emperor the bad name of incest.  Furthermore, with her heinous heart and devilish nature, she was in harness with evil guys to prosecute those upright subjects, kill her own brothers and sisters, murder the young emperor and poison her mother to death.  What she did was totally intolerable to humans and divine, not allowable in any place in this world.  Not least, she harbored an evil scheme in coveting the throne.  She put the beloved son of Emperor Gao in confinement and conferred important posts to her gangs and next-of-kins.  Alas!  Where had all those loyal subjects of significance gone?  The death or exile of all royal heirs marked the end of the Tang Dynasty; the femme fatale would eventually destroy the country!

敬業皇唐舊臣，公侯冢子。奉先君之成業，荷本朝之厚恩。宋微子之興悲，良有以也；袁君山之流涕，豈徒然哉！是用氣憤風云，志安社稷。因天下之失望，順宇內之推心，爰舉義旗，誓清妖孽。南連百越，北盡三河，鐵騎成群，玉軸相接。海陵紅粟，倉儲之積靡窮；江浦黃旗，匡復之功何遠？班聲動而北風起，劍氣沖而南斗平。喑嗚則山岳崩頹，叱咤則風云變色。以此制敵，何敵不摧；以此攻城，何城不克！   

Xu Jingye, that is me, a loyal subject of Royal Tang and a eldest son of noble family, has long adhered to the teachings of late Emperor Gao and received the grace of His Majesty.  Did many ancient wise people lament and cry for the loss of their countries or positions for no apparent reason?  Therefore, out of indignation, I must stand up and do something righteous for the dynasty and country of Great Tang.  I hereby swear, upon your widespread discontentment with Wu and your support for me, that I shall raise up the flag of justice to eradicate that monstrous woman.  From the south, up to the north, let us gather drones of cavaliers and line up their chariots.  Allow us to store an infinite amount of grain and corn in our granaries. Let us wave royal flags on waterfronts.  In so doing, will the restoration of Tang still be a long way from success?  Horses are neighing loudly in the blustery north wind; swords are shining with bright stars.  Raging fighters are roaring their wrath to make mountains tumble and the wind and clouds quiver.  With strength like that in fighting, what kind of enemy cant we beat, which city cant we seize?   

公等或居漢位，或協周親，或膺重寄于話言，或受顧命于宣室。言猶在耳，忠豈忘心？一抔之土未干，六尺之孤安在？倘能轉禍為福，送往事居，共立勤王之勛，無廢舊君之命，凡諸爵賞，同指山河。若其眷戀窮城，徘徊歧路，坐昧先機之兆，必貽后至之誅。

Gentlemen, you may be from the family of created nobles, the next-of-kin of the royal house, the reliable pillars of state, or the subjects of significance who are told to carry out the last will of the late Emperor, which is still lingering in your ears. How can you forget your loyalty? The clay on the grave of the late emperor is yet to dry, and where is his young successor all about?  If we can turn the tide by splendidly sending off our late emperor and proudly serving our new master, I believe that our honor and award will be granted with the same solidity as Mount Tai and the same length as the Yellow River because of our great feats in saving the royal family.But if we are too nearsighted to be satisfied with the invested interest and dilly-dallying in making the right decision in this pivotal moment, we are bound to receive severe punishment for our misjudgment on this augury.
