'Huawei, the great disrupter's new targets'

In my last piece of writing, I attributed the success of Alibaba in NYC stock exchange mostly to Mainlanders' "can-do" spirit.  Now Huawei, another Chinese big firm "prepares to take on HP, Cisco and other IT giants.", the Economist says.

At the stage of the gig held in Shanghai recently, Huawei’s bosses declared their aim of making their firm the world’s leading information-technology (IT) company.  The magazine says "it's a audacious goal' that pits Huawei against such titans as IBM, Cisco and HP—innovative giants with deep customer relationships and comprehensive offerings that Huawei cannot yet match.  But Huawei faced the similiar challenge a decade ago in telecoms equipment and now has grown to become one of the world’s dominant vendors.  Now Huawei assumes the long-predicted convergence of the telecoms and IT businesses is finally happening.  That means in the near future the switch between hardware and software will be merged into a dorminant "software-defined networking”.  Therefore, Huawei is seeking to get ahead of this disruption of its core business by being a "disrupter" itself, again.

I am completely an IT layman; all I know is Mainlanders are truly believers to Dr. Sun Yat-shen's teaching "Don't just follow suit, do catch up." in technology, and they always make decision quick, never dilly-dally whenever they are going to carry out daunting tasks.  Dear islanders, don't just act hysterically against Mainlands, do join them.  If you opt for being absent during the rise of China, you will be doomed to being pathetic "魯蛇s".
