New York Times reported Myanmar already had its MOU of China-built high-speed railway to lapse due to some undisclosed reasons. But TIME said China believes sooner or later Myanmar will resume the talk on that much cheaper railway plan because Myanmar can only afford buying likewise cheaper goods from China, which will be only supplied via such a convenient means of transportation.
TIME also said the scheduled railway will traverse almost all inland of Southeast Asia via Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand to its final destination: Singapore. By the time, Kumming, the origin of the railway will have become the capital of Southeast Asia. (You know, in the near future Chongqing will become the capital of the world when the efficiency of New Silk Road on railway eventually emerges.) Where will Taiwan be then? Nowhere, because it shall be totally marginalized unless Taiwan allows a cross-strait underwater railway to be built. So continue to tussle for political interests, you narrow-minded, parochial politicians of Taiwan, you will be just "left yourselves behind"(Wall Street Journal). Ha!
P.S. Kumming and Qingdao are two cities I've been yearning for spending my retired life there. In afterlife maybe, because my wife won't go with me.
