We left Korla and headed for Nor People village at Yuli County(尉犁縣) which is nearly 100 km away.  En route for our destination, we passed through an almost boundless cotton fields along the highway.  I have never seen a cotton field before, not even in the States though there is a popular hit song "Cotton Field"

The village consisting about 20 households is a perfect converging place located at the border of Taklamakan Desert, Tarim Basin, Tarim River, and the vanishing salt lake Lop Nur(羅布泊).  Tourists there were busy riding camels, or showing off the power of their SUVs on dunes, or sliding on the sand slopes, or rowing small boats in the lake.  Well, I could not resist the curiosity towards riding on camel, so I did it.  It was a wonderful experience to have such a compatible close contact with that adorable, pliant animal of two humps on its back.
