It is said the movie started to film five years ago and completed in 2015, but for some reasons not until recently did it have premiere in China's Mainland.  It's a commercial film but seemingly a biopic in which the stories of four Tsinghua guys with characteristic Zeitgeist of Nationalist China are told.  They are real figures or the prototypes to copy.  Apparently, so far I haven't had the chance to watch the movie either in theater or online.  It's ok; someday I will.
