Persimmon is one of my favorite fruits, no matter it is hard and crisp, soft and juicy, or a dehydrated one, I just love its flavor. When autumn comes and I happen to be in America, persimmon will be the staple fruit in my shopping cart. But from now on I think I could enjoy eating it out of my own "planting". There is slender persimmon tree grown in my backyard, so slender that its "trunk" has to be tied up with a wood prop to grow upward. Amazingly, there are six large fruits on its poor, tiny "branches", like hanging upon a thread, and we are waiting for the first crops to ripen as their colors trun orange from green. The bad news is now I am in prediabetes stage; Id rather not to eat anything too sweet. So I guess all I can eat are the hard and crisp ones, that is: "柿子挑硬的吃". |
