單車環台第一天,在家長與師生的加油聲中,240名高一學生及68位教職員踏上為期12天的旅程。請大家持續幫鐵馬勇士們加油打氣! Today is the first day of the cycling trip. 10 B student students had a review discussion with principal after dinner at the dining room in the hotel. Eric says “I really appreciate the teachers and the classmates for all the support, since I had to attend much canoe polo competition, I missed some bike training, and therefore, I face some problems along the way today. Luckily, everyone was motivated and cheered for each other, so I safely accomplished today’s journey.” Bryan Ku shared his feedback: “I could not ride bicycle at all at the beginning, but I was lucky enough to pass the test after 3 training lessons. I felt that it was redundant for the pre-cycling trip training, but when I complete the riding from Ching Shan to Hsiou Gang, it meant something to me. Today, I ride far, more than I ever thought, I feel great that I have really achieved something.” Welly Wang says: “I sued to ride bikes when I was young, but it wasn’t any serious training. At the training before the trip, I learned a lot of smart tricks to make the journey easier. I assisted some people in need today and it felt wonderful enjoying this bike trip with my friends.” Jeff Tseng, and outstanding canoe polo athlete, decides to stay with his partner Eric Hua along the journey, although Eric does not have good riding skill, but Jeff helps him when he needs help. Eric is slow, but “he is still my riding partner”, says Jeff. Both Charles and Lawrence feel that the best part of the riding is to ride with their homeroom classmate, it is like their family, this group of people is the most enjoyable people to them. The Principal, James Wu states out: “Yes, helping with others is crucial in the whole experience. More and more people shared their feeling by saying encourage each other is what they did the most and what they think they should do. Principal says: “If I weren’t in Kang Chiao, I wouldn’t have cycled around Taiwan, so I think I am blessed to be a part of this. When I heard the cheers from the teachers and parents and say the motivation in everyone’s eyes, I was so warming hearted and touched.” Susan, the homeroom teacher gave an ending: “I was the processor of all the ceremony we had for this trip. I was so touched since the opening ceremony. I saw people have been touched by your outstanding manner, I saw your subject teachers and parents felt so touched when we eventually started the riding trip this morning, they were fell in tears. I feel so warm hearted when people asked me “who are those parents, they so passionate and encouraging”, I noticed some of them are our parents, I feel so happy when I saw the class started to take the challenge, to leave the comfort zone by both taking the mission and to be independent and responsible. The minuet you willing step back and be humbled when you know it might not be your mistake, the time you learn to put down your pride and go on, the time you started to show what is “ all for one, one for all”, my feel really touched and speechless, and you did a great job. I wish that you will keep it up, and truly from my heart: 10 B, I really, really, feel so proud of you.”
