STRENGTH   IN   THE   ASHES





  


     On our journey through life


              Sometimes


 In the darkness of our ignorance


        We need to rest and


Light a fire for warmth and direction








   As we bow to collect sticks


       We may put our hands


          Into cold ashes





Somebody has been here before me


        In the dark and cold


    Built a fire and carried on








I too will feed my little fire


   With the burdens of life


Which I have attempted to carry


     And journey onwards


       Lighter at heart
